JOB SUMMARY:
This position exists to develop and implement successful marketing plans, sponsorship programs,
business development, strategies and tactics that meet the short term and long term promotional,
financial and operational objectives of the Clark County Event Center (CCEC) and the Clark County Fair.
This is an at will, salaried, management level position and may include supervisory duties.

Works with the COO and CEO to establish goals and objectives for the successful promotion of
the CCEC facilities and the Clark County Fair.
Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing plan and programs to support the sales and
revenue objectives of the organization.
Responsible for the planning, organizing, staffing and supervising the marketing, sales and
sponsorship department. Responsibilities include training, assigning work and disciplining a full
time and temporary staff.
Secures hard (cash) and soft (in-kind) dollars from corporate and local sponsors that enhance,
support, strengthen and expand the CCEC and the annual Clark County Fair.
Identifies prospective sponsors, develops sponsor proposals, makes presentations, negotiates
sponsorships, completes sponsor agreements; coordinates all sponsorship requirements, on-site
coordination and soft-dollar coordination.
Perform follow-up, satisfaction and renewal process of all sponsors and sponsorships.
Oversees and assists in producing all print marketing materials (print ads, banners, posters,
fliers, etc.) and overall print campaign for the Event Center and the Fair.
Works with the Fair’s media buyer, production companies and the fair staff in developing and
implementing the marketing/advertising/promotional campaigns within budget. Coordinates
and monitors the use of social media resources and platforms.
Oversees work with outside agencies to develop and implement promotional programs and
activities to achieve goals and objectives including brochures, media materials, advertisements,
posters, signs, banners, etc. and developing and enhancing the overall brand of the facility and
events.
Develops a marketing budget for approval by the COO and the CEO. Assists in developing rental
rates and policies to maximize revenue and maintain a competitive position within the market
area and industry.

Applies for grants and makes funding requests. Manages the awarded funds and associated
marketing efforts.
Evaluate promotional programs and activities for effectiveness and revise as necessary.
Provide public relations for interim events and the Clark County Fair by working with local TV,
radio, media outlets and through citizen contacts, business contacts, user groups, service
organizations and others throughout the year.
Participate in various trade shows, events and conferences to promote the CCEC and the Clark
County Fair. Increase visibility within the community while building and strengthening
relationships with community partners and organizations.
Drive entry into new markets and further develop existing markets.
Resolve specific marketing and public relations concerns and issues.
Establish and maintain accurate and detailed information and/or files on each client and
develop follow-up procedures to evaluate events.
Conduct surveys of exhibitors, vendors, public and other participants to improve program and
customer relations and service.
Manage the Clark County Fair consignment ticket sales programs through marketing to local
companies and arranging for pre-sale ticket outlets.
Work an extended schedule, including weekends and evenings, according to event schedules.
Perform other duties as directed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in marketing, advertising, business or closely related field and at least 3 years’
experience in marketing, sales and/or advertising or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Experience in developing and managing marketing strategies.
Proven experience in customer and market research with relevant industry knowledge.
Demonstrated management skills for personnel, financial and time budgets.
Corporate sales experience a plus.
Fair and/or event experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license.

Revise, plan and implement advertising and promotional activities and take effective action to
correct deficiencies and resolve issues.
Develop promotional brochures and information; prepare and disseminate radio, TV and social
media materials and display advertisements, posters and signs.
Allocate and make effective use of available resources.
Read, understand, apply and adhere to federal, state, county and local laws, rules and
regulations governing the CCEC events and operations.
Term of Employment: At will, salaried, full time, permanent position.
Work Week: Must be able to work flexible hours, particularly during the summer fair season. Holiday
and weekend work are sometimes required. Work schedule for the majority of the year is Monday
through Friday. Some travel is required.
Pay Range and Benefits: Base salary plus excellent commission opportunity; Competitive benefit
