Employment Training Assistant Job Opening
Growing Home, a job training program for individuals with employment barriers, has
been working in Englewood for the past decade. The Employment Training department at
Growing Home is looking for a dynamic Employment Training Assistant to add to our
team.
Top candidates will be energetic, committed to individual and social change, and willing
to assist in all aspects of our training program. The Employment Training Assistant will
have experience facilitating groups, mentoring and coaching individuals, and have strong
cultural competency skills. The Employment Training Assistant will primarily be tasked
with facilitating Growing Home’s unique job readiness training curriculum in the
classroom and in one-on-one settings.
The Employment Training Assistant works at the Wood Street Urban Farm, 5814 S.
Wood Street, and is supervised by the Employment Training Manager.

Ensures participants remain goal-driven throughout the program by
collaborating with employment training and farm enterprise staff
Serves as a regular classroom trainer; provides support to external facilitators
Plans, manages, and facilitates classroom lessons and activities as necessary
Provides one-on-one job search support, including resumes, cover letters and
job search
Assists in office support tasks and operations tasks as necessary
Assists in recruitment by participating in info sessions and application
sessions as necessary
Assists in case management and supportive service provision as necessary
Assists in providing referrals for employment as necessary
Assists in employer outreach and relationship development as necessary

Assists in reporting and data management as necessary
Serves as liaison to the Associate Board Program Committee
Participates in Graduate Advisory Council recruitment, engagement,
meetings, and activities as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Excellent reading and writing skills; written communication must be error free
and professional
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work
independently and problem-solve as needed
• Ability to open, edit, and save Microsoft Office and Google Docs, and send
emails; ability to learn computer programs quickly
• Strong communication skills, able to represent Growing Home
• Drivers license
