UNDERSIDE RIBS
Specifically designed to support all types of equipment. The location,
thickness and depth have been designed to maximise strength and
performance.
UL 94 - THE STANDARD FOR SAFETY OF FLAMMABILITY OF PLASTIC MATERIALS FOR PARTS IN DEVICES AND APPLIANCES TESTING
UL 94 is an internationally recognised plastics flammability standard released by Underwriters Laboratories
The purpose of the UL 94 V2 Flammability test is specifically for components or parts which may be in close proximity to a naked flame,
or under faulty conditions or overload conditions, attain a temperature such that they are unduly affected or such that they will ignite
parts in the nearby area. There are two types of preselection test programs conducted on plastic materials to measure flammability
characteristics. The first determines the material’s tendency either to extinguish or to spread the flame once the specimen has been
ignited. The first program is described in UL 94 which is now harmonized with IEC 60707, 60695-11-10 and 60695-11-20 and ISO 9772
and 9773.
V2 classification means that the specimens may not burn with flaming combustion for more than 30 seconds after either application of
the test flame. The specimens may not have glowing combustion that persists for more than 60 seconds after the second removal of the
test flame. Therefore the product is deemed self extinguishing and flame resistant under UL 94 V2.
Many hot water appliances, including many of the major brands in Australia which contain plastic components within the gas appliance,
require materials that meet the minimum of the 650 Glow Wire test. POLYSLAB Flame Resistant Equipment Bases exceed the 650 Glow
Wire test and are therefore suitable for applications where a naked flame may be present and a material is required to meet the UL 94 V2
rating.

The POLYSLAB product range represents the highest quality of injection-moulding
polymer components. The primary focus has been to minimise the unit weight
and increase the stackability of the product, whilst utilising recycled materials of
the highest quality to provide the end user with a superior alternative to concrete.
Detailed structural engineering analysis has been conducted to maximise the
strength-to-weight ratio of the entire POLYSLAB range.
All POLYSLAB products are extremely durable, easy-to-install and ultimately, the
most environmentally-friendly equipment pads available.

POLYSLAB Flame Resistant Equipment Bases are for use in installations where an Australian approved gas appliance may contain a heat element or naked flame and a fire resistant base is specified. POLYSLAB Flame Resistant
Equipment Bases are designed to support the appliance but is not designed to come into direct contact with a heat element or naked flame. Flame resistance of material meets UL 94 V2 standards. Product is to be installed on a
flat level surface, ground should be compact and able to support the entire weight of equipment to be installed. Underside of POLYSLAB Flame Resistant Equipment Bases should be back filled with suitable material to fill the void.
