Context: At the point of salvation, each believer receives the Holy Spirit. He
becomes our counselor and guide. This is true, but he also our seal—the mark of
God’s ownership over us. He is also our deposit—guaranteeing our future
inheritance.

Discussion:
Why was it significant for the Holy Spirit (visibly) and the voice of God to be
evidenced by those who were there?
According to John 1:32-33, Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit those who
follow him. How has the evidence of the Holy Spirit been evident in your life?
In regards to Eph. 1:13-14, what does it mean to you to be sealed in the Holy
Spirit? What encouragement do you find in this sealing?
This passage also says the Holy Spirit is a deposit for our future inheritance.
How would you unpack the meaning of that future for someone who is not a
believer?
What do you believe this future includes and do you get excited about it?
