Cleaning Procedures:
Stairs:
1. Sweep
2. Vacuum carpets: be sure to lift carpets and sweep under them;
vacuum backs of carpets and floor (or sweep)
3. Mop stairs
4. Finish with a cloth wiping sides and baseboards
5. Wipe chair rails with a clean damp cloth
6. Wipe window casements with a clean damp cloth
7. Check the walls for salt stains or other dirt and wipe clean
8. Wipe hand rails
9. Wipe doors inside and out (use a pail and soapy water)
10. Sweep door stoops and sidewalk out to the street
Elevator:
1. Wipe walls and controls with a damp cloth
2. Vacuum with shop vac and be sure to vacuum the elevator door
tracks as they get filled with dirt and debris and with stop the
elevator from working
3. Mop floor of elevator
Lobbies:

Wipe pictures and walls (especially tops of mouldings)
Clean as much of window ledges and windows as possible
Wipe baseboards
Wipe corners
Mop floors
Clean all surfaces with a damp cloth; include box office counter and
bar counter
7. Garbages: check and empty if necessary; wipe top and sides of
containers
Bathrooms:
1. Clean toilettes: complete outside and in; use windex or a spray
cleaner for this. Scrub bowls and use a strong cleaner
2. Wipe around the bases of the toilettes as the mop doesn’t do a great
job
3. Wipe down tile walls
4. Clean windows and ledges
5. Clean sinks, counters and mirrors
6. Mop floors
7. Wipe down doors; especially at push points
8. Clean urinals: using a strong cleaner, wipe outsides and then pour
bleach or a strong cleaner into them. Add pucks if necessary.
Main Hall:

Wipe window ledges every time
Wipe chair rail (mouldings) and baseboard
Dry mop stage and main hall
Wet mop stage and main hall
Wipe edges and corners of the hall with a damp rag
Check on stage behind curtains for garbage or equipment not put
away
7. Wipe chairs (metal frame and backs) if time allows; do a few every
cleaning
Pit area:
1. Vacuum carpet and sweep floor of under stage area
2. Look for garbage and put away any equipment such as chairs or
stands which haven’t been properly stored.
Green Room:

Pull furniture away from the walls and sweep, vacuum and mop
Sweep, vacuum and mop main floor areas
Empty garbages and recycling
Wipe all surfaces and chairs
Clean mirrors and pictures (if time)
Bathroom: scrub inside of toilette after every event and wipe outside
of toilette with a strong cleaner (every time)
7. Clean sink and wipe corners of the floor, then mop
8. Clean the mirror
Stage staircases:
1. Vacuum, sweep and mop
2. Wipe corners and rails with a damp cloth
Balcony:
1. Clean washrooms with procedures above
2. Sweep all floors and check for garbage debris (especially under
seats)
3. Wipe and vacuum seats (as often as possible)
4. Mop floors
5. Wipe railings
6. Wipe all mouldings
7. Empty all garbages
Studios:
1. Empty garbage
2. vacuum
3. dust pianos
Downstairs School and Office:

Empty all waste and recycling and put out in garbage hut
Wipe any surfaces such as desks
Clean dishes in kitchen and tidy
