STAGE MANAGEMENT APPRENTICE VOLUNTARY ASSESSMENT
The CAEA Stage Management Committee has compiled this form as part of its commitment to improve
the training of apprentices. It is intended to facilitate dialogue between the stage manager and the
apprentice. It can provide the apprentice with both a guideline of expected professional conduct and an
objective evaluation of their developing skills. With this feedback, the apprentice will be able to take a
more proactive approach to his or her own professional development.
Completion of this assessment form is voluntary. The completed form is strictly confidential,
and must be returned to the apprentice, with no additional copies made. It is not for use for
any other purpose by engagers, the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, or the stage
manager, nor by the apprentice as a letter of reference. It is intended to remain a confidential assessment and educational tool, between the stage manager and the apprentice only.
