2/21:
First Presentation of Power Point to the RSC

4/16:
Discontinued Stop Calls at 0000 on 4/16/2012
•
6/11: Discontinued Start Calls at 0000 on 6/11/2012 with the exception of
Txx (Transmission Constraint needs), CRD (Contingency Reserve
Deployment), short lead capacity resource (<30Minute start), Emergency/
Abnormal condition and if wanting to start a unit inside of the submitted
offer parameters.
•
TBD: All Start / Stop Calls will be discontinued at 0000 on TBD with the
exception of calls during an Emergency or Abnormal condition and if MISO
wants to start a unit inside of the submitted offer parameters.

1) The “ACK” checkbox has been removed – replaced with #2
2) “Unacked” commitment periods will be edged in red and have an exclamation mark as well
3) After you have “Ack’d” the commitment period a check will replace the exclamation mark
4) Commitment box colors have been lightened for better viewing
5) Timeline has been changed to HE (Hour Ending) from what was showing hour beginning
6) Unit names will be the Operator Names and not the EMS names
7) In the pop up the unit name will be the EMS name
8) The one who “Ack’d” the commitment will show on the pop up

What you will be able to do:

You will be required to acknowledge the Commitment Period by
clicking in the Commitment Period.
Refreshing is automatic
You can filter for either “All” or “Unacknowledged” in the “Show”
dropdown box
At the top of the screen there will be a red text line that you have
unacknowledged Starts and/or Stops to view and acknowledge

Next Steps
•
All Start / Stop Calls will be discontinued when the MCS
Start/Stop Notification changes are implemented.
•
MISO will need to expand the use of MISO Communication
System for Market Participants and Generator Operators for the
notifications of starts and stops
•
MCS development for new communication and display for
Market Participants and Generator Operators for the switching
to XML when ICCP fails
•
Planned rollout is 1/1/2013.
•
Remember the XML Notification is still your primary notification.

XML Notifications in the MCS
Taking advantage of existing MISO Communication System
(MCS) to send out XML Notifications during total Loss of ICCP
•
Would allow communication with Market Participants for switching
from ICCP to XML during MISO ICCP Failure event.
•
Simple interface to acknowledge instructions to switch to XML
dispatch
•
Requires an acknowledgment of the XML dispatch instructions
