CHAPTER – I
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
PanditBhagwatDayal Sharma University of Health Sciences has been
established by the Haryana Act No.26 of 2008. This Act has come into force w.e.f. 2.6.2008
vide Haryana Government Notification No. S.O.74/ H.A. 26/2008/S.I./2008 dated 18-8-2008.
The University has been established for the purposes of teaching and affiliating, ensuring
proper and systematic instruction, training and research in Modern and Indian System of
Medicine and for the administration of the Pt. B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical
Sciences, Rohtak. The University shall exercise its powers throughout the State. This
University is the first University of Health Sciences in the State. It is located at a distance of
70 Km North-West of Delhi on the National Highway No. 10, spread over a sprawling 350
acres of land on the outskirts of the historic city of Rohtak.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1.
To administer, manage and advance Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS and monitor and
regulate the functions of affiliated colleges and institutes.
2.
To establish uniformity in standards of education in all faculties
3.
To promote research in various discipline of Health Sciences with special focus on
social and economic relevance of such research and with emphasis on occupational
and environmental health issues affecting the people.
4.
To establish and develop study centers integrating all disciplines relevant to health
sciences.
5.
To promote the development and use of information technology as part of
technological infrastructure.
6.
To attain high standards of academic excellence by providing thenecessary physical
infrastructure.

CHAPTER – II
ABOUT PT. B.D. SHARMA PGIMS, ROHTAK
Location :
Pt. B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences is situated at Rohtakcity
which is at about 70 K.m. from Delhi on Delhi-Hissar-Sirsa-Fazilka National Highway(NH-10).
It is at a distance of about 250 Kms. from Chandigarh. It is well connected by rails and road.
Auto-rickshaws are easily available from the Railway station and Bus stand to this institute
and the charges are reasonable. It is the only institution, in this field, run by the State Govt. of
Haryana. This institute was started under the name of Medical College, Rohtak in 1960. It is
a tertiary care teaching hospital of State with 1620 beds. This institute has a total of 33
departments including 7 superspecialty departments. All departments provide best quality of
teaching and patient care in their respective fields. Besides, MBBS/BDS courses the
MD/MS/MDS/DNB courses are run in 21 specialties. Recently M.Ch. courses have also been
started.
Campus :
The Institute is situated over a sprawling area of about 350 acres. The climate and weather of
this city is almost the same as of Delhi and its surroundings.
Hostels :
There are separate hostels for boys and girls situated near the college and Hospital. These
hostels consist of 8 blocks for Boys hostel, 7 blocks for Girls hostel & 6 blocks for Doctors
hostel. There is also a facility of canteen in each Hostel. There is adequate number of cooperative mess run by students themselves for food facilities in all hostels.
Library :
The college library is air conditioned and is housed in the Ist floor of the administrative block
of the Institution. This library is divided into two parts. Part-I is main library and Part-II is
reading hall. Students of weaker section/reserved category can avail the facility of obtaining
the books of their courses from the Book Bank. Adequate number of Medical and Dental text
books, journals, books of general interest, reading material for common people like
Newspapers, magazines etc. are available in the Library. Internet facility is available in
computer section of the library for the college staff and students. The library is also
connected to the national medical library.

BPS GOVT.MEDICAL COLLEGE FOR WOMEN,KHANPUR KALAN
(SONEPAT), HARYANA
Government of Haryana has set up a new Medical College at KhanpurKalan in District
Sonepat. It is a Government College for girls. The MCI has given permission to admit the
second batch of 100 girls students for the academic year 2013-14. The college is strategically
located between two National Highways, GT road on eastern side and highway 71A from
Rewari to Chandigarh on the western side, in green and naturally beautiful 100 acres land in
absolutely pollution free area. The college is adjacent to BPS MahilaVishwavidyalaya. It is
about 80 kms from ISBT and New Delhi Railway Station and 30 kms from Sonepat. The
Hospital is fully operational in view of OPD/ IPD, Modular Operation Theaters and ICU
providing all kinds of medical services. The institute is having a world class fully airconditional infrastructure in form of Hospital, College and Administrative Block along with the
metropolitan style residential complex in the middle of lush green surroundings.
SHAHEED HASAN KHAN MEWATI GOVT. MEDICAL COLLEGE, NALHAR,
MEWAT (HARYANA)
ShaheedHasan Khan Mewati Govt. Medical College, NalharMewat is situated at a
distance of about 50kms from Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi on Gurgaon
Alwar Highway at the foothills of Aravali hills range in southern Haryana. It is the only major
Institution for Medical education & Research and
tertiary care centre for provision of
specialilzed Health care services not only to the people of the State of Haryana, but also to
those from Rajasthan and western U.P. It has been named after Raja Hasan Khan Mewati
who scarified his life in March, 1527 in the Battle of Khanwa against the First Mughal
Emperor Babur, the invader to Delhi’s throne at that time.
The construction of the Institute was started in August, 2009 and in the subsequent
years the college has been developed into a world class infrastructure, built up with the cost
of approximately Rs. 400/-Crores for Phase-I on 72 Acres of Land and is equipped with
state of art machinery and equipments and a very dedicated team of Doctors and
Paramedical staff. It is the first of its kind setup in this remote and difficult area by the Govt.
to give one point solution to the Health problems of about one Million population of Mewat
region. A 500 bedded Hospital will cover 22 areas of medicines with high-end laboratories,
complete critical and imaging solutions, state of art ICU facilities to fulfill the aspirations and
dreams of the Govt. of Haryana and the people of Mewat. The Institute has started its OPD
and Indoor services and already established its name in this part of Haryana because of
tireless responsiveness and care being provided 24x7 by faculty and staff.
Medical Council of India has approved has approved the college in first go for the
intake of 100 MBBS students for the academic year 2013-14.
As a part of Phase-II,
multifaceted expansion measures like acquisition of 35 acres of additional land for the
establishment of Dental College, Nursing College, Auditorium etc. has been announced by
the State Government of Haryana.

MAHARAJA AGRASEN MEDICAL COLLEGE AGROHA-125047 (HISAR)
Maharaja Agrasen Medical Education & Scientific Research Society was established
in April, 1988 with the aim to provide medical care in the rural Haryana & impart Medical
Education to students of the state. In 1988 the Government of Haryana gave approval for
admission of 50 students for MBBS course. Since there were no infrastructural facilities at
Agroha Campus, the students were admitted as guest students at Medical College, Rohtak.
The piece of land measuring 267 acres was acquired by the Government & leased
out to the Society at a nominal cost. Under a written agreement the Government of Haryana
got these buildings constructed on matching grant basis.
The aim of the managing society of the Institute is to develop the Institution to the
extent that it is capable of imparting the best medical education and providing the good
medical care to the population of Haryana & bordering district of Punjab & Rajasthan. It
strives to produce doctors with good personality with emphasis on their growth into an
integrated development. The Institute has a well qualified and dedicated staff.
This Government Aided Institute is affiliated for the MBBS, P.G Course
(MD/MS)& other courses to Pt. B.D.Sharma, University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. The
Medical council of India New Delhi has recognized vide letter No U.12012/64/2000-ME (PII)
dated 12.6.2007 & No. 12012/83/2012-ME (PII) dated 12.2.2013. The admissions are made
purely on merit, on the basis of entrance examination conducted by CBSE& counseling
conducted by the Pt. B.D.Sharma, University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. For NRI quota,
same rules are being followed as in PGIMS, Rohtak. Our students of previous batches have
done well in the University Examination securing First/Second position in many subjects.

CHAPTER – IV
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
1)
He/She should attain the age of 17 or more on 31.12.2016.
Note : The age shall be determined as per entry in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary or its
Equivalent Certificate.
2)
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate
Examination(10+2) of Board of School Education, Haryana or an examination
recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Biology taken together and must have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry,
Biology & English individually, in qualifying examination. For NRI candidates the
equivalence and eligibility of candidates will be determined by Pt. B.D.Sharma
University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
3)
NRI candidates who have cleared the Qualifying Examination in grading system from
abroad must produce conversion certificate of grading to the percentage of marks/
equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, 16- Comrade
Indrajit Gupta Marg, New Delhi.
4)
The candidates against NRI seats in PGIMS, Rohtak, BPS Govt. Medical College for
Women, KhanpurKalan,(Sonepat), SHK Mewati Govt. Medical College,
Nalhar,(Mewat), Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha (Hisar) and Post
Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak will be admitted through ONLINE
COUNSELING according to the merit list based on the marks obtained in NEET2016.
5)
Admission against seats reserved for NRI candidates will be made in the following
manner in order of priority.
Category I :
Actual NRI candidates who originally belong to the State of Haryana.
Category II :
Children of NRI who originally belong to the State of Haryana.
Category III:
Actual NRI candidates who originally belongto an Indian State or Union
Territory other than Haryana.
Category IV: Children of NRIs who originally belong to an Indian State or Union Territory
other than Haryana.
i)
If sufficient numbers of eligible candidates under first category are available then they
will be admitted first even if students under subsequent category are higher in merit.
ii)
The NRI students will have to give a Bank Guarantee / Surety Bond for the balance of
fee, if they opt to pay the fee in installments as provided.
iii)
Any seat remaining vacant under NRI category till last date of admission shall go to
the Open category.
iv)
It will be obligatory on the part of the University to provide registration number to all
candidates once duly admitted.
Definition of NRI- “Non Resident Indian” is a person of Indian origin who is not
a “resident”.

CHAPTER – V
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS AT A GLANCE
1.

2.
Before filling the online Application Form, the candidates are required to read the
prospectus carefully. For any query, please contact the helpline telephone number for
the applicants and for the colleges the same will be mentioned here after receiving
from the concerned agency.
3.
The Admission to MBBS/BDS Course for session 2016-17 will be made on the
basis of merit of NEET through online counselling by Pt. B.D.Sharma University
of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
4.
It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure eligibility for admission before
applying for the course. If on verification at a later stage, it is found that a candidate
does not fulfil the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature will be cancelled and the fee
deposited by him/her shall be forfeited.
5.
On-line registration-cum-counselling fee is Rs. 10,000/- ( Registration & Counseling
fee). Registration cum counselling fee is non-refundable.
6.
On-line registration-cum-Counselling fee shall be deposited by the candidate through
Net Banking/ Online Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card. Additional Bank Charges shall be
borne by the candidate.
7.
All the candidates must verify their personal information during online registration.
8.
Registered candidates who do not fill choices or fail to save the same cannot be
considered for admission and seat allotment.
9.
Candidates must take print-out of their online Application Form along with their locked
choices. The print-out has to be signed and submitted at the time of reporting for
admission.
10.
The outcome of different rounds will be displayed on the websites
www.uhshryadmissions.in , www.uhsr.ac.in , www.pgimsrohtak.nic.in as per admission
schedule. No individual allotment letter will be sent to the candidates.
11.
All the candidates who are allotted seats will report to allotted college institute within
stipulated date, failing which their seat allotment shall stand cancelled. Also they will
not be considered for further counselings.
12.
Candidates will produce all the relevant certificates in original including registration –
cum-counseling for receipt for verification along with provisional allotment letter, a
signed print out of their online application form, their locked choice generated from the
website before Admission Committee before reporting in the institute.
13.
If documents are found to be correct on verification then provisional admission/auto upgradation letter generated online will be issued to the candidate by the concerned
college. The candidate shall check all the entries in this provisional admission/ auto upgradation letter and should sign it and preserve it for further reference.
14.
The allotment of seats is liable to be cancelled, if the personal data viz. Category, Subcategory, residential status ( Bonafide Residents of Haryana or All India Category),
percentage of marks in qualifying examination, gender etc. submitted by the candidates
at the time of registration is found to be wrong at the time of verification of the original
certificates. But, if the candidate is found to be eligible after the correction in personal

data, the candidate may be considered for subsequent rounds of counseling, if any,
against the vacancies only.
15.
If a candidate is admitted on the basis of the information submitted by him/her, which is
found to be incorrect or false at any stage then his/her admission shall be cancelled
and all fees and other dues paid by him/her shall be forfeited. The
University/College/Institute may take further action, as deemed fit, against the
candidate in accordance with law.
16.
All the rules and regulations for the submission of migration certificate by the
candidates which have passed the qualifying examinations form Board will be
applicable as per the rules of the University.
17.
In case a candidate after having deposited required fee for admission to MBBS/BDS
course 2016-17 decides to leave the MBBS/BDS course before the last round of
counseling, the fee deposited by the candidate will be refundable to him/her by the
concerned college if the seat so vacated filled by some other candidate.
18.
In case of ambiguity about any rule, the interpretation of the same by the University
shall be final.
19.
All Legal disputes relating to admission to MBBS/BDS Course will be subject to Courts
having jurisdiction at Rohtak.
20.
All the updated latest information/changes/modifications will be displayed on the
websites. The candidates are required to visit the website regularly to obtain the latest
information.

DURATION OF COURSES (MBBS/BDS) :
1)
The course of studies leading to the award of Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and
Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) shall last for a minimum period of five and a half
academic years including one year compulsory rotatory internship.
2)
The course of studies leading to the award of Degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery
(BDS) shall last for a minimum period of five academic years including one year
compulsory rotatory internship.

CHAPTER-VII
FEE STRUCTURE FOR NRI SEATS :
FOR MBBS
25000 US$ at the time of admission
12500 US$ per year for 4 years
FOR BDS
10000 US$ at the time of admission
5000 US$ per year for four years.
Note :a)
Fees once deposited shall not be refunded under any circumstances and no
correspondence will be entertained.
b)
In addition to above, other fees including tuition fee and other funds will be paid by the
candidates as prescribed by the University/ College concerned.
c)
During the entire course, the fee will be paid by the candidates in US$ or Indian Rs.
equivalent to the required fee in US $ with the statement from the Bank that the
amount has been withdrawn from the NRE/NRI A/C of the parents/candidate.
d)
The NRI students will have to give a bank guarantee/surety bond for the balance of
fee, if they opt to pay the fee in installment as provided.
e)
Fee is likely to be revised from time to time by State Admission Committee.
Important Note:
1. The notification issued in this regard by the Govt. of Haryana, Deptt.
of Medical Education & Researchvide No. 16/10/2016-6HB-IV dated
31.08.2016 is the part and parcel of the Prospectus.
2. The candidates are advised to check the University Websites i.e.

CHAPTER-VIII
ONLINE ADMISSION PROCEDURE
This section provides an overview of the steps involved in counselling and admission
process.
A. Online Registration
·
·
Candidate should visit websitewww.uhshryadmissions.in.
Candidates should go through prospectus for gathering information/ instruction in
details about counselling schedules and procedures. Softcopy is available on the
websites www.uhsr.ac.in , www.pgimsrohtak.nic.in&www.uhshryadmissions.in.
· Candidates will register themselves as per key dates mentioned in the admission
schedule for Govt./Govt. Aided Medical/Dental College of Haryana.
· For participation in online admission process, a candidate has to register by submitting
personal data/ requisite information correctly in the online application form. On
submitting this data/ information user Id and password will be generated/ created for
use in future logins by the candidate.
· For subsequent logins, candidates will be able to login directly with their user Id and
password candidates should remember to logout at the end of their session so that the
details filled in them cannot be tampered with or modified by unauthorized person.
· Candidates are advised to record/remember their password for future logins and not to
disclose or share their password with anybody.
· It is clearly the responsibility of the candidates to verify that their personal data
including Category, Subcategory, Residential Status, gender etc are consistent with
documentary evidence.
· If the personal data submitted/ entered by the candidates are found to be wrong at the
time verification of certificate either during reporting or at a later stage, the allotment of
seat/provisional admission is liable to be cancelled.
· Candidates should take a print out (hard copy) of the online application form containing
the above personal data for future use.
B. Payment of Registration & Counseling Fee.
·
Last date for payment of Registration-cum-counseling fee for (Govt./ Govt Aided
Colleges) is as per key dates mentioned in the admission schedule.
· Remember
you have paid your registration-cum-counseling fee during online
counseling, otherwise your allotted seat can be CANCELLED at any stage and
candidate would not have any claim on such allotted seat.
C. Online Choice Filling & Locking

Online choice filling & locking by the candidate can be done as per key dates
mentioned in the admission schedule for Govt./Govt. Aided. Medical/Dental Colleges in
Haryana.
If the fee is paid by the candidate through internet banking/credit card/ debit card and
the choice filling open will be activated immediately otherwise the candidate will have to
wait till fee confirmation to get the option activated.
Candidates are advised to go through the updated list of Medical/Dental Colleges in
Haryana on the website www.uhsr.ac.in&www.pgimsrohtak.nic.in and should prepare a
list of Colleges in order of preference in which they are interested in seeking admission.
Candidates can fill in as much number of choices in order of preference as they wish to.
Candidates are allowed to change or re-order their choice, delete earlier choices and
add new choices any number of times until they lock their final choices.
All the candidates must lock their final choices as per key dates mentioned in the
admission schedule.
Candidates will not be able to unlock their choices once they are locked.
If candidate fail to explicitly lock their choices by the last date, their last saved choices
will be automatically locked and allotment will be done on this basis.

Candidate must take a print out of their locked choices. This print out has to be signed
and submitted at the time of reporting for admission.
Registered candidates who do not fill choices or fail to save the same cannot be
considered for admission and seat allotment.
D. Online seat Allotment
First Round
· Seats will be allotted in the order of merit and preference/choices as per admission
schedule as mentioned in different phases.
· The allotment result will be available on the website www.uhshryadmissions.in.
Individual allotment letters will not be sent to the candidates. However, candidates may
get a print out of the allotment details from the above website (from their login)
· Candidates who are allotted seats will have to personally report to the allotted college
with provisional letter.
Second Round
· Seat will be allotted against vacant seats available after the first round of allotment and
reporting.
· Registered candidates will be allowed to alter or resubmit their choices and
preferences.
· Eligible candidates for allotment against vacant seats fall into one of the following two
groups .
Group-I:
Candidates who reported at the allotted college after first round of seat allotment and
opted for all the choices of preference higher than the currently allotted seat (auto
upgradation) to be considered in the subsequent round(s).
Group-II:
· Registered candidates who were not allotted any seats in the first round of seat
allotment.
· Candidates who, at any stage, cancel their provisional admission will not be considered
for the subsequent round(s) of counseling. Also, if candidates fail to satisfy the
minimum educational qualifications prescribed, their allotment of the seat shall
automatically stand cancelled and such candidates will not be considered for the
subsequent round(s) of counseling.
· Candidates opting for auto upgradation shall automatically forego his/her claim on the
seat previously allotted.
· Similar procedure will be used in the subsequent round(s) of the seat allotment.
E. Reporting at Allotted College/ Institute

(as per admission schedule). Individual allotment letters will not be sent to the
candidates by the university, however will be available in their login, if allotted.
All the candidates who get an allotment should take print out of this provisional seat
allotment and will report to the allotted College/Institute as per specified reporting
dates for taking admission failing which their seat allotment shall stand cancelled.
Candidates will produce all the relevant certificates in original including registration and
counseling fee receipt for verification alongwith provisional allotment letter, a signed
print out of their online application form, their locked choices generated from the
website at the time of reporting.
At the time of reporting if documents are found correct on verification and the fee is
paid (as mentioned in the prospectus) by the candidate, then a provisional admission
letter generated online will be issued to the candidate by the concerned college. The
candidate shall check all the entries in this provisional admission letter and should sign
it and preserve it for further reference.
The allotment of their seats is liable to be cancelled, if the personal data viz. Category,
Sub-category,residential status (Bonafide Residents of Haryana or All India Category),

percentage of marks in qualifying examination, gender etc. submitted by the candidates
at the time of registration is found to be wrong at time of verification of the original
certificates at allotted Institute, But, if the candidate is found to be eligible afte the
correction in personal data, the candidate may be considered for subsequent rounds of
counseling, if any, against the vacancies only.
If a candidate is admitted on the basis of the information submitted by him/her, which is
found to be incorrect or false at any stage then his/her admission shall be cancelled
and all fees and other dues paid by him/ her shall be forfeited. The University/Colleges/
Institute may take further action, as deemed fit, against the candidate in accordance
with law. The candidates may participated in the next round (if any) after making
suitable corrections in application form, but will lose opportunity in current round.
The allotment of seats to candidates who do not report within the stipulated period to
the allotted college will be cancelled and these candidates will not be considered in the
seats allotment in the current rounds.

them. Any candidate who fails to produce any of the required Certificate Document/
Testimonial at the time of reporting the institution, will forfeit his/her claim to admission.
Matriculation/High School Certificate
10+2/Intermediate/Senior Secondary School Examination Certificate & Detailed Marks
Card or equivalent certificate.
Haryana Resident certificate if applicable.
Equivalency certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. if
applicable.
Conversion Certificate of grading to percentage of marks if applicable.
Proof of NRI Status.
Provisional Allotment letter.
Original Receipt of Registration & Counseling Fee.
Print out of Online Application from alongwith their locked Choice.
Note:
· All Original documents, 04 latest passport size photographs and 02 sets of attested
photocopies of all applicable document/ testimonials/ certificates must be brought at the
time of reporting.
· If the original certificate are not in Hindi/English, duly certified Hindi/ English version/
translation of such certificates will be required.

CHAPTER-X
BAN ON RAGGING IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Instructions for curbing ragging:
Ragging in educational institutions is banned and any one indulging in ragging is likely to be
punished which may include expulsion from the institution, suspension from the institution or classes
for a limited period or fine with a public apology. The punishment may also take shape of (i)
withholding scholarships or other benefits (ii) debarring from representation in events (iii)
withholding results (iv) suspension or expulsion from hostel or mess, and the like. If the individuals
committing or abetting ragging are not/cannot be identified, collective punishment can be awarded
to act as a deterrent.
The following will be termed as the Act of Ragging :
Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect
of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other students, indulging in rowdy or indiscipline
activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear
or apprehension thereof in fresher or junior students or asking the students to do any act or perform
something which such students will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing
or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely effect the physique or psyche of
a fresher or a junior student.
Note :
Besides above, the candidates would also observe the following instructions:i)
It must be noted by the candidates/parents/guardian etc. that ragging is banned in the
institutions and in case anyone indulging in ragging is liable to be punished including expulsion from
the Institution and/or imprisonment upto 3 years, and /or fine uptoRs. 25,000/-.
ii)
The concerned Institution will have the right that to prevent/prohibition of ragging under
Act/Ordinance and if any, candidate admitted to the course found indulging in ragging will be
cognizable offence and really means business and the Institutes will not hesitate to take stern action
against the offenders.
iii)
A candidate admitted to the course in an Institution shall submit an undertaking duly signed
by him/her and countersigned by his/her parents/guardian at the time of admission to the effect that
he/she is fully aware of the law regarding ragging as well as the punishment and that he/she if found
guilty on this account is liable to be punished appropriately. Similar undertaking shall also be
furnished by the parents/guardian that they are fully aware and noted the law in this regard and
agrees to abide by the punishment meted out to his/her ward in case their ward, if admitted to the
course is found guilty of ragging.
iv)
Undertaking of similar nature as given under Sr. No. iii & above shall also be obtained from
the admitted candidates in the application form for admission to the Hostels as well.
v)
As per the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 16.05.2007 “If any incident of
ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain
and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the
institution”.
vi)
Every student for the purpose of his/her admission shall furnish a Character Certificate from
the institutions wherefrom he/she has passed his qualifying examination, which would mention the
status of his/her behavioural pattern specially in terms as to whether he/she has displayed persistent
violent or aggressive behaviour or any desire to harm others.
