MEALS (Full-Time) The JSP contributes towards meals for all full time students JAMAICA SCHOOL OF PREACHING AND BIBLICAL STUDIES WORSHIP All students are required to be fully involved members of an existing congregation of the Church of Christ and attend the services and meetings of the church ( Sundays and Midweek). The teachers also set examples by being active and faithful members of a local congregation. C.O.C BUIDING in Mona, home of THE JSP SCHOOL HOURS Classes are held normally between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Students are expected to do at least four hours of private study each day. EXTENSION SCHOOL Part-time courses are available at various location in Jamaica and overseas and online. VACATION Three school vacations are given each year: in April, august and December. Students and staff members participate in campaigns during some of the vacation months. We are designed to prepare Christian men and women both locally, and in other countries worldwide to be effective workers in the Lord’s Kingdom. Caskey, formerly a missionary to South, Central and East Africa. A four year diploma programme of studies was offered to an enrolled student body of twenty-six. Past directors, after Caskey were John Featherstone, Sr., Jim Massey and Carl Maples. The present director is Gladwyn Kiddoe who has serve in this role since September 1979. WHY J.S.P? Since 1970 the JSP has been at the center of quality and effective training of faithful Christians both regionally and internationally. Our graduates now serve in 14 countries throughout the western world .Our faculty is filled with men who are fully qualified and well experienced in ministry and the work of the church. AIMS Of JSP To prepare male and female Christians for greater service in the church of Christ. To build personal confidence so each person will serve God to a higher level. In increase knowledge of the Word of God. To give a good over-view of the Bible To prepare students to spread the Gospel both privately and publicly. To teach each student how to access information in building sermons and lessons To help each person to be a better public speaker. Men for worship and women for ladies classes, Ladies Lectureships and other appropriate scriptural settings or occasions To prepare students to help strengthen local congregations and start new congregations OUR CURRICULUM STUDENT CONDUCT Successful students will pursue a variety of courses including : a complete study of the books of the Old and New Testaments and Bible-related subject such as: New Testament Greek, Homiletics, Hermeneutics and Church Music. Students are required to participate in gospel campaigns and other personal evangelism activities organized, approved by or sponsored by the School. The school expects the highest level from all members of the Jamaica School of Preaching community. Students who deport themselves poorly will be counseled, and if such behavior persists, will be dismissed. TUITION The cost of tuition for all students for the duration of studies is met largely by the JSP. However, a monthly contribution is the expected to be made by the student’s home congregation each trimester towards tuition ACCOMMODATION The JSP operates residential facilities for male students ( a dormitory), at the rear of the Mona building and female students are accommodated off campus. The actual cost of accommodation for all full-time students is borne by the school. Students should make arrangements to furnish their own financial support to take car e of personal cost, as the JSP only contributes to accommodations. JSP STUDENTS BEING STUDIOUS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Applicants Must Be at least 18 years old & faithful Christian Be a serious student , Be recommended by a home congregation or a local preacher. Have at least secondary education or equivalent. Attend an interview with the director and/or his appointees JSP FULL TIME STUDENTS AT DEVOTION AUDITING COURSES Any person who meets the approval of the director, or his appointees, may audit courses.
