Visible Camera UV Solar Blind Camera Due to the bright daylight condition it is not possible to detect a weak UV flame with a visible camera. The UV Solar Blind camera can detect the UV radiation. Daylight shows no influence to the camera. Therefore the weakest UV signals (up to single photon events) can be detected. They are used to detect the emission of UV radiation when discharges occur at defect insulators. ProxiLine cameras comprise a highly UV sensitive sensor to detect discharge initiated UV radiation. The recorded image is not disturbed by intensive day light, even not by bright sunlight. This is the superior feature of the ProxiLine family. The ProxiLine Premium camera combines this extraordinary feature with the overlay of an image of the situation in the visible spectrum. The overlay of both images shows the exact position of the electric discharges. Such system makes it economical to detect defects and discharges in high voltage transmission line insulators which helps to avoid severe and cost-intense breakdown of electricity supply. Ambient daylight does not disturb the images. PL 4 Premium / ProxiLine Premium The PL 4 Premium comprises a complete corona inspection system with a bi-spectral camera for an overlay of an UV corona image with an visible image for an exact localisation of the faulty insulator or other source of UV radiation in the relevant spectral range. The PL 4 Premium is a portable system operated with rechargeable batteries and ideally suited for the outdoor powerline inspection. Furthermore a powerful software for documentation of the inspection results considerably increases the value for the end-user. The integration of GPS data is available as an option. The user carries the PL4 Premium ProxiLine camera with a strap for a good view on the display and comfortable operation and handling of the camera. A supporting software for localisation and documentation of the inspection is included. Data which are recorded on a data card in the camera can be easily transmitted to a PC system.
