ARTICLE I NAME AND DESIGNATION Section 1.1: Then name of this organization shall be the Fathers’ Rights of Nebraska hereinafter referred to as FRN. Section 1.2: FRN shall be a non-profit organization. ARTICLE II PURPOSES AND PRINCIPLES Section 2.1: The purpose of this organization is to provide information, education, legal referral and support to non-custodial parents regardless of gender. FRN also has as a fundamental goal educating lawmakers, judges, attorneys, and the public at large of the importance of including fathers as an equal party in the rearing of children. Section 2.2: FRN is dedicated to the idea that all children deserve the love and support of both of their biological parents. Section 2.3: FRN believes that like females, males are victims of domestic violence and that public resources utilized to eliminate domestic violence or assist domestic violence victims should be offered to all citizens regardless of race, age, and gender. Section 2.4: FRN is not a religion-based organization and has no affiliation to any church or organized religion. FRN welcomes members of all faiths and backgrounds. ARTICLE III FRN MEMBERSHIP Section 3.1: Membership may be granted to any individual who completes the publicly available membership form and who supports the purposes and principles of FRN. There are no dues associated with membership. Section 3.2: Membership may be revoked if, as a member of FRN, any suggestion or act of violence is enacted to further any political or personal agenda and which, at the time of occurrence, automatically suspends member status upon further review of the Executive Board. Section 3.3: Membership may be revoked at any time with or without cause or notice to the member by any member of the Executive Board upon written notice of the date the termination will take effect and the reason. The board may override the termination upon written appeal by the member and upon a vote by the Executive Board at any regular meeting of the Executive Board. The notice of intent to appeal a termination of membership need not comply with any particular or predetermined form in order to be a valid notice of intent to appeal. ARTICLE IV ELECTED OFFICERS OF FRN Section 4.1: The elected officers of FRN shall be a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary/Treasurer, Membership Director, Media Director, and By-laws/Platform Director hereinafter known as the “Executive Board”. Section 4.2: The initial executive board, hereinafter referred to as the Founding Board shall elect or otherwise appoint the first full executive board. After the instillation of the first full board, members of the Executive Board shall be elected by the sitting board at any regularly scheduled meeting of the executive board or at any special meeting called by the executive board or any of it’s members. Notice must comply with section 4.5 of these bylaws. Section 4.3: The term of office for appointed Officers of FRN shall not be limited by time except that the appointed officers may be removed by a majority vote of the Executive Board at any regular meeting of the Executive Board. Each appointed officer shall assume office immediately upon the appointment by the Executive Board. Section 4.4: Nominations for Executive Board Offices will be taken at any regular meeting of the Executive Board. Section 4.5: Any member of the Executive Board may call on special meetings. The Executive Board must give at least a seven (7) day notice. Section 4.6: A vacancy in an appointed officer position shall be filled at the first regular executive board meeting of FRN following the occurrence of such vacancy. ARTICLE V AUTHORITY AND DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD AND ITS OFFICERS Section 5.1: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary/Treasurer, Membership Director, Media Director, and By-laws/Platform Director make up the Executive Board. Section 5.2: The Executive Board is the policy-making body of FRN and may exercise all the powers and authority granted by these Bylaws and the “FRN Rules of Order”, the Parliamentary authority adopted by FRN. Section 5.3: The Officers shall perform the duties presented by these Bylaws and FRN Rules of Order, the Parliamentary authority adopted by FRN. Section 5.4: The duties and responsibilities of the Chairman is to handle the overall business planning, conducting of meetings, and has the authority to appoint committees as necessary in order to promote FRN. Section 5.5: The duties and responsibilities of the Vice-Chairman is to help and assist the Chairman in handling the day-to-day operations and to perform the duties of Chairman when the Chairman is unable to serve for any reason. Section 5.6: The duties and responsibilities of the Secretary/Treasurer is to prepare and maintain attendance records for both regular meetings and special meetings of the FRN and the Executive Board; prepare notices, calls and minutes for all regular and special meetings of the FRN and Executive Board; must record the receipt of all funds, issue appropriate financial accounting activities of FRN. Section 5.7: The duties and responsibilities of the Membership Director is to promote FRN within the community while seeking individuals that share the same purpose and principles adopted by FRN, must maintain a record which contains the name, address, email, and contact phone number of each voting member of FRN and the Executive Board. Section 5.8: The duties and responsibilities of the Media Director is to gain and maintain a positive and professional relationship with the local and national media outlets. Over sees any and all press releases, web site content, and all literature regarding FRN. Section 5.9: The duties and responsibilities of the By-law/Platform Director is to handle any and all issues relating to the By-laws and Platforms. ARTICLE VI MEETINGS OF FRN Section 6.1: Regular meeting of FRN will be held on the third Thursday of every month. Exceptions may include holidays and elections; in that case, the Chairman will decide when the meetings will be held. ARTICLE VII PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY Section 7.1: The current edition of FRN Rules of Order, Newly Revised shall apply on all questions of procedure and parliamentary law not specified in these bylaws. Section 7.2: In the event decisions must be made prior to the creation of FRN Rules of Order, then the Executive Board will be responsible for enacting and enforcing all rules, regulations, and law. ARTICLE VIII AMENDMENTS OF BYLAWS Section 8.1: These bylaws my be amended at any regular meeting of the Executive Board by a two-thirds (2/3) vote, provided the amendment has been included in the call of that meeting and read aloud in full at the previous regular meeting.
