General Notices:
1. Do not open the outer casing of the camera due to risk of electric shock.
2. Dampness and high heat can damage this product.
Maintenance and Care:
When not using, store the camera in dry and dark place with the battery removed.
1. It is advisable to wear the wrist strap to avoid dropping.
2. Use a proper protective casing to prevent the lens and display screen from being scraped.
3. If you want to clean the lens surface, blow away the dust on the surface and lightly wipe with
a cloth applicable for the cleaning optical devices. When necessary, use a lens cleaner. Do not
use organic solvents to clean the camera.
4. Never touch your fingers to the surface of the lens.
Other Notices:
The digital video camera can be used under temperatures between 32ºF and 104ºF. Avoid
leaving the camera in direct sunlight or extreme heat or cold situations. When moving the
camera from a cold to warm location, do not allow condensation to form on the camera.

Getting Started
1. Installing Batteries
1. Open the battery lid
2. Place 3 AAA batteries into compartment, observing polarity.
3. Insert the front end of the battery lid into the battery stack (Fig. 1), press the back end of
the battery lid (Fig. 2) and then push the battery lid inwards until it snaps closed against
the body (Fig. 3).

2. Using an SD Card (Optional)
To insert: Push the SD card into the slot until it is
completely inserted as shown.
To eject: Lightly press the card end inwards and the
SD card will eject.
Lock ◄Write-protect Switch
Memory and Save:
1. The SD/MMC card can be used (sold separately, max. size 512MB).
2. When buying a SD/MMC card, be sure that you have your camera with you in order to
ensure compatibility.
3. When the SD/MMC card is inserted, the camera will stop using the internal memory
automatically.
4. Most SD cards will have a write-protect switch for preventing data from being deleted in
error. Memory cards in the lock position will not allow the camera to write or delete data.
Please see instructions provided with the memory card for further details on this feature.
5. The memory card should not be used for storing data for extended periods of time. It is
recommended that you copy the files from the digital camera or SD card to a permanent
storage location (i.e. computer, external hard drive, CD, etc.).

3. Power on and off
1. Power on: press the power key. The screen will light and the unit will power on.
2. Power off: press the power key once and the unit will power off.
If the “automatic switch-off” option of the digital video camera is set as 60s or 120s, the
unit will automatically power off after 60 or 120 seconds respectively after remaining idle.
4. Focus Modes
Press the macro switch on the top of the body to switch between macro and normal shooting
modes.
1. Macro: Suitable for shooting objects 5.9-9.8 inches away from the lens. When using, push
the macro switch to the end marked with
.
2. Normal focus: Suitable for shooting objects 4.6 feet away and further from the lens. When
using, push the macro switch to the end marked with

5. Adjusting the wrist strap length
1. Pull apart the PVC handgrip.
2. Remove nylon strap from Velcro.
3. Slide strap to adjust length.
4. Re-fasten end of strap to Velcro.
5. Close PVC handgrip to hold in place

Basic Operation / Modes
Select Mode:
There are 3 modes to select from: shooting, recording and playback. The default mode after
powering on is the record mode. Press the mode key to switch between the shooting mode
and record mode.
In shooting or record modes, press UP key to enter the playback mode. In the playback mode,
press UP key to enter the record mode.
Indicator Light:
BUSY light will illuminate when recording, playing, connecting to the PC and TV output.
Self-timer light will blink to confirm the self-timer function.
Connect to PC:
After the USB cable is connected to PC, the camera will enter the corresponding USB mode
set in the setup menu. When connected to the PC, press the
mode switch key to switch between PC Camera mode and
Mass Storage mode. Power saving mode: according to the
setting, the camera will automatically shut down when left idle
for 1min or 2 min.
Menu Settings:
Menu is divided into 2 categories. Use the LEFT and RIGHT
keys to switch between Image/Video and Setup.
Use UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT to switch between menu
options.
Shooting Photos:
After powering on, the record mode will be entered. Press the mode switch key to switch to the
shooting mode. In the shooting mode, press RIGHT key to switch to the self-timer mode. You
can also select the self timer mode from the “Image” submenu.

Recording:
To switch to the recording mode; press the shutter key once to start recording and press the
shutter key a second time to stop recording. While recording, the clip duration will be displayed
at the top of the screen.
Playback:
In the playback mode, press LEFT or RIGHT key to select files.
When a photo is now displayed, the zoom-in key or zoom-out key can be used to enlarge or
reduce photos.
When a video is now displayed, press the shutter key to start playing, press OK key to
suspend playing and press the MENU/OK key again to continue playing.

Using digital zoom
The digital zoom can zoom up to 4x the original size of the frame. To zoom in, press
the zoom-in key. To zoom out, press the zoom-out key.
LED flash light
Use the LED flash light to illuminate subjects in dark environments. Press the LEFT
key to turn the LED light on/off. The LED icon will display on the screen when
activated.

Menu operation
Press MENU key to open video menu. While Video Mode is still highlighted, press the
LEFT key or RIGHT key to switch between video menu and setup menu. Press the
DOWN key to enter the options of the video menu or setup menu.
Use the LEFT, RIGHT, UP and DOWN keys to navigate through your menu options.
After setting, press MENU/OK key to close menu.
Clock Settings
Select “Date/Time”. Press RIGHT key to enter Date/Time setting submenu. Press the
UP/DOWN key to make time adjustments and press RIGHT key to move between
Year/Month/Day, Hour/Minute. After adjustments, press MENU/OK key to confirm.

Menu operation
Main operations are the same as those of record mode menu.
When choosing “Delete current” or “Delete all” menu, press RIGHT key directly to
confirm.
Set Logo: Photo set as a “logo” will be shown as the camera powers on. To cancel
photo set as logo, choose the image in playback mode and then press MENU/OK key
to open the playback menu. Choose “Set Logo” submenu, choose “No”, then press
MENU/OK key to confirm. When the camera is powered on again, the logo will be
restored to the default image.
“Set Logo” is only valid to photos.

Connecting to PC
Before connecting the camera to the PC, insert the software disk provided and run the disk via
“my computer.” After opening the CD from “my computer,” click the button labeled “install
driver” to install the camera driver software. Connect cable included to the digital video camera
and USB end to the USB port.
Once connected to the PC, your camera can be
set to “mass storage” or “PC camera.” To
switch between these modes, press the
MODE change button on the camera.
Mass Storage Mode
Set the camera to “mass storage”
mode to view photos/videos stored on your
camera. Once connected and set to “mass storage,” double click on “my computer.” Your
camera should show up in my computer as “no_name” or “removable disk.” Double click on
this drive and browse through the subfolders until you see your photos/videos. To transfer your
photos/videos to your PC simply drag and drop (or copy and paste) the photos/videos into a
new folder destination on your desktop. You can also transfer images with the Photo
Impressions software that was provided with this camera. To view instructions/help with Photo
Impressions, install Photo Impressions from the software disk provided and refer to the “help”
section of the Photo Impressions program.
PC Camera Mode
With the help of the included Video Impressions software, when set to PC camera mode, the
camera can be used to view and record real time images and videos. To view instruction/help

with Video Impressions, install Video Impressions from the software disk provided and refer to
the “help” section.
Software Installation and Use
Driver Installation:
1. Put the installation CD into the CD drive of the computer.
2. The screen will display the following introduction window:

Driver Installation
Click “Install Driver” button and complete the installation as prompted. After the installation
is complete, restart the computer.
Set the camera PC mode to connect it to the computer. When the following window opens,
choose “Yes” to finish the installation.
