Campus Features: Philadelphia University’s buildings range
from historic Victorian mansions to contemporary classroom,
library and residential facilities. In 2013, the new home to
Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce will be
completed. The Kanbar Campus Center, a 72,000 square foot
hub for students, faculty and staff; the Center for Sustainability,
Energy Efficiency and Design; and the Gallagher Athletic,
Recreation and Convocation Center – have transformed the
main campus and had a dramatic impact of the academic and
social environment of the University.
In addition, Philadelphia University houses more than 20
laboratories and studios for hands-on experience in architecture
and interior design, engineering, textile design, fashion design,
graphic design and industrial design, as well as biology, chemistry,
physics and computer technologies.
National Reputation: U.S. News & World Report ranks
Philadelphia University’s Physician Assistant Studies program
among the top 20 in the Nation.
Philadelphia University hosts the largest fashion show in
Philadelphia each year, awarding the Spirit of Design Award (past
recipients have included John Varvatos and Tommy Hilfiger).
Philadelphia University student athletes rank in the top 10
(eighth) among all NCAA Division II institutions for academic
success according to the 2011 NCAA Academic Success Report.
PhilaU student-athletes graduate at a rate of 95 percent, well
above the national Division II average of 72 percent.
Success Rate: Over the past twenty years, Philadelphia
University’s graduates’ career placement rate in their majorrelated jobs has averaged 90 percent within a few months of
graduation.
