11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis
- On the basis of analyzing the basic existential philosophy concepts with the characters as the indispensable
foundation of ethical concept such as human existence, existentialism, the concept of freedom and so on. The
dissertation analyzed, systematized some basic contents of existentialist ethics such as good, evil, the
standard of morality, conscience and responsibility, and the meaning of life. From the interpretation of
existential ethics, dissertation indicates the contents that inheritance and application bring meaning for moral
education in Vietnam nowadays, such as, to enhance creativity and will of each individual, awaken the
conscience and responsibility, and make the life more and more meaningful. On the other hand, the derived
lesson is to thoroughly grasp the harmonious principles among “individual – community”, avoid the self overassessment and neglect the national traditional values. Along with the interest in the spiritual and interior life,
people need to be fully aware of the role of science in improving the material life.
12. Practical applicability:
The dissertation derives some lessons from both disadvantages and values of existentialist ethics for the
moral education in Vietnam nowadays.
The dissertation can be used as the reference for students, initially serving for studying and teaching a
trend of modern western philosophy.
13. Further research directions:
From some lessons of existentialist ethics, the dissertation reseaches to give concrete solutions for the
moral education in Vietnam nowadays.
