Intended for controlling itself and an additional keyless incandescent lamp socket.
Install and use this product following your local electrical codes and regulations.
CAUTION: Before working with your portable lamp remove the plug from the wall outlet.
For easy and safe installation.
1. If replacing an existing socket, remove the light bulb and the shade first. Then press
the side of the brass shell where it is marked “press”. Rock the shell back and forth to
remove.
2. Pass the wire through bushing on new cap, screw cap onto pipe and tighten set screw
on cap bushing securely. Insulating disk must be in bottom of cap.
3. Strip end of copper strands. Be careful not to damage wire strands of insulation beyond stripped length.
4. Twist copper strand of each wire tightly together. Loop wires clockwise 3/4 turn around
terminal screws. Firmly tighten screws over wire loops. Connect SMOTH, NONRIBBED or BLACK conductor from the line cord to brass terminal screw on the 7362
socket. Connect the black wire from the keyless socket in base of lamp to the BLACK
terminal screw of the 7362 socket. Connect the RIBBED or WHITE conductor from the
line cord to the WHITE conductor from the keyless socket in base along with a short
WHITE conductor from the 7362 socket’s SILVER terminal screw with a wire connector
(wire nut) and secure with electrical tape.
5. Slide metal shells (with insulating liner inside) over mechanism so switch is seated in
slots on shell and push shell firmly into cap until they lock securely and evenly into position. To insure locking , push on metal shell only. Pushing on inner liners may prevent locking.
6. Plug in lamp or restore power at circuit breaker or fuse.
