Under “Compression” on the right-hand side, select:

“Let me choose the specific compression method”

Then from the drop-down menu select “Zip: No Compression” (see screenshot below)

If you need to encrypt it with a password then under “options” select:

“Encrypt Added Files” (see screenshot Below)

(If it doesn’t need a password, then you can ignore the above, and just click “Add”)

Now click the “ Add ” button at the bottom of the window

If you have encrypted it with a password, the following window will appear:

Type the Password you want for it

And make sure “Zip 2.0 Compatible (weak/Portable)” is selected

This ensures maximum compatibility between different kinds of “Zip Software” so anything can open it with the correct password.

Then click “OK”

The following window will appear:

Click “OK”

Now this will be on your screen:

You can close this window down.

You have now made a “.Zip” file.

It will always put the “.Zip” file in the same place as the original file – for example:

In this tutorial, the original file we used was this:

Which was on the desktop.

So the newly created “.zip” file will also be on the desktop – as shown in the next screenshot:

However, if you created a “.Zip” file from a file on a network drive, or in a folder- then the newly created “.Zip” file will be in the same place/folder as the original file.
