Four-Step models have household characteristics
(Auto Ownership, Household Size, Presence of
Children, Number of Workers). However, these
characteristics are not preserved in model stream
after trip generation.
Four-Step models have no individual trip makers’
characteristics
In ABM, both trip makers’ household and person
characteristics (e.g., income, auto ownership,
person types, and occupation types) are kept till
highway/transit assignment

“Selected Link” used to be only for showing
where cars are coming from and where they
are going to.
With ABM SERPM 7, now we can show the
characteristics of travelers.
