Creating Goals/Objectives/Outcomes

Adding an Outcome, Objective, or Goal

1.

Go to the Planning tab and click on Outcomes/Goals in the side menu, then click Edit/Create .

2.

Check that the Organization showing is the one to which you wish to add an outcome/objective/goal.

3.

Select the type of entry you would like to create from the “ View By” drop down menu.

Click the Add [Outcome/Goal/Objective] button. This button’s label depends on the choice you made in

Step 3. a.

Outcome and Description: Enter the outcome/objective/goal into that field. Description is optional. b.

Type: The type displayed depends on your selection from the previous screen. You can change the type from here, also. c.

Student Learning Outcome: If this is student learning goal/outcome/objective, select Yes . Otherwise, select No .

Results – Identify the source of results for the goal/outcome/objective

“Results are derived from its own measures.” -

There is a direct measure of this outcome’s results. The results are not derived from a separate outcome/goal/objective.

“Results are derived from the data collected for other outcomes/objectives/goals.” The results for this are indirect or based on results from another goal/outcome/objective. Mapping will identify the source of the results.

If you indicate that your results will be derived from the data collected for other outcomes/objectives/goals, you will be presented with two additional options: a.

I will map this goal/outcome/objective later (* Recommended ) b.

I will map this goal/outcome/objective now

6.

When you are finished, you have three options: a.

Save – This will save the goal/outcome/objective and take you back to the previous page. b.

Save and Add Another – This will save the present goal/outcome/objective and allow you to create another. c.

Cancel – This will cancel any actions you have taken for this goal/outcome/objective without saving.
