Enrichment: Customized courses incorporate individual interest with challenging expectations. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● English Literature and Composition Mathematics (Pre-Algebra through Calculus) Core Social Studies and Electives Core Lab Sciences and Electives English as a Second Language Spanish, French, and Latin Art, Photography, & Portfolio Development ADDITIONAL FEE-BASED OPTIONS Sailing Lessons: Summer session students may choose to participate in sailing lessons three days a week at a local marina. They will be taught basic sailing, navigation, racing techniques, and various tactics on a Colgate 26 sailboat. Students of varying abilities are welcome. Credit Recovery: By prearrangement with a student’s home school, material can be covered to earn credit for incomplete or failed coursework. Marine Biology: A hands-on course taking advantage of our proximity to the Long Island Sound and organizations such as Project Oceanology. Cogmed: This five week computer-based program improves working memory and attention. Supported by coaches, students train daily, learn new strategies to improve executive functioning, and push the limits of their cognitive abilities. Common benefits include improved reading comprehension, problem solving, impulse control, organization, social skills, and attention. PROGRAMS & FEES Social Studies: A group course focused on pressing current events as well as historical and political moments of the late 20th & early 21st century. Tennis Lessons: Oxford offers students private tennis lessons with an accredited tennis professional. Students of varying abilities are welcome. Skill Building: Instruction is geared toward closing gaps in content knowledge and skill development. Day Student (noncredit) Up to 4 courses $1,200/course Study Skills: Guided practice in organization and time management, summarizing, note-taking, test preparation, and writing. Day Student (½ credit) Marine Biology Social Studies $2,000/course Summer College Search: Rising seniors build a college list, develop the personal essay, and begin work on the Common Application.
