The Open Doors report includes both enrolled students and those on postcompletion Optional Practical Training (full-time work authorization after completion of studies). Therefore, Open Doors 2015 indicates that U-M “hosted” 7,423 international students in Fall Semester, 2014 and not the 5,990 reported as enrolled by the International Center based on Fall Semester 2014 data from the Office of the Registrar. In Fall Semester 2015, U-M enrolled 6270 international students from 124 countries. Note: The number of enrolled students reported by the International Center differs slightly from the number reported by the Office of the Registrar in Report #118 because the International Center report does not include student in pending permanent resident status.
