Featherdale’s Wildlife Wanderer will be visiting
Strathfield Library this school holiday with some
wild guests!

This workshop examines the crazy chemistry of
acids, bases and pH. What they are, how they
are measured and how they are applied to many
areas of everyday life. From the foul fermenting
insides of your stomach, the importance of pH in
swimming pools, soil and how pH is important in
many household substances. Children learn about
chemical indicators and actually test materials using
indicators in test tubes.
2 Little Ninjas! (Ages 5-12) – Cost $3
Tuesday 5 July, 10:15am-11:45am
Strathfield Community Centre, Bates St, Homebush
Get ready to work out like Ninjas! With the discipline
of training like Ninjas it’s fun & fitness combined. Learn
about Ninja culture its non-violence origins and using
Martial Arts to escape danger.
3 Flower Pot Craft Workshop (Ages 5-12)
– Cost $5
Wednesday 6 July, 10:30am-11:30am

In this workshop children will make flowers from
paper and other craft materials. They will then be
able place them in a paper mache flower pot that
they’ve decorated.
4 Lavender Lily’s Movement Imaginations!
(Ages 5-12) – Cost $3
Thursday 7 July, 2:15pm-3:45pm
Strathfield Community Centre, Bates St, Homebush
Movement Imaginations inspires physical activity
through creative play. Lavender Lily will take you
on a magical journey stimulating creativity and
emotional expression through theatre games,
movement riddles, hula hooping, juggling, music,
drumming and free dance.
6 Junkyard Beats (Ages 5-12) – Cost $3
Tuesday 12 July, 2:15pm-3:45pm
Strathfield Community Centre, Bates St, Homebush
Make some noise with Junkyard Beats! This workshop
includes drumming, body percussion, movement
and music activities. Children are required to bring
one plastic bottle (from your recycling collection at
home) and a small bag of rice.
7 Fizzics Education’s Create a Buzz
Workshop (Ages 7-12) – Cost $5
Wednesday 13 July, 10am-11am
Ironbark Room, Strathfield Library
65-67 Rochester Street, Homebush
In this workshop children will learn about static
and current electricity, magnetic repulsion and
attraction, electromagnetism, simple circuits and
renewable energies. Children will find out the
difference between series and parallel circuits, how
magnets work and how they are linked together.
They will see 100,000 volts discharged in a flash and
conduct electricity through the palm of their hand
- a ‘hair raising’ experience!
Hip Hop Dance! (Ages 5-12) – Cost $3
Thursday 14 July, 2:15pm-3:45pm

One of the most popular forms of dance for children
and teenagers. Learn about the history of Hip Hop
dance and culture. Learn some popping and locking
moves and a simple routine to show your friends!

Service Centre at 65 Homebush Rd, Strathfield. Please do not return via fax. Payments must be made to secure booking.
Payment can be made by credit card over the phone to 9748 9999 or in person at the Customer Service Centre.
Please note bookings will be limited to two activities per child. Additional activities listed as a preference will
be placed on waiting list until bookings closing date. Parents will be advised of additional placements offered.
Children enrolled must be aged between 5-12 at the time of the program.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Bookings
• Registrations must be completed on the official form
for all activities. Failure to complete all details on the
form will result in an unsuccessful application.
• Places will be allocated on the following priority basis:
1. Children who reside in the Strathfield LGA
2. Children who attend school in the Strathfield LGA
3.Children from other areas will be placed on a
waiting list until applications close, at which time,
if there are vacancies in the activity requested, a
place will be offered.
4. Bookings will be limited to two activities per child.
Additional bookings will be placed on waiting list
until bookings closing date. Parents will be advised
of additional placements offered.
• Registrations will be confirmed to listed parent/guardian
by email or phone after registrations have closed.
• Activities have a nominal booking fee.
• Fees must be paid to Strathfield Council prior to the
activity.
• Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable in the
event of a participant being unable to attend.
• There is a limit of 40 children per program.
Age restrictions
The school holiday program is designed to meet the
needs of children between the ages of 5 to 12 years.
Enrolled children must be aged between 5-12 at the time
of the program. For special needs children, age stated is
a guide only.
Supervision
All school holiday program activities are fully supervised
by qualified staff.
Physical activities
Participants must wear appropriate clothes for the
activity including closed in shoes/runners, water bottle,
and a hat and adequate sun protection for outdoor
activities. Please remember to label your child’s water
bottle and hat.
Cancellations
Outdoor activities are affected by weather conditions
and therefore Council may be required to cancel or
postpone activities. In the event of cancellations for wet
weather, safety or unforeseen circumstances, fees are
non-refundable.
Parent/Guardian attendance
Parents or guardians who wish to attend activities are
requested not to approach children, other than their
own, due to NSW Child Protection laws.
Photography
For the protection of all children, parents are advised no
photography of children is permitted.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
Council manages privacy and personal information in
accordance with relevant legislation and Council’s Privacy
Management Plan. Information on how Council handles
your personal information is explained in Council’s Privacy
Management Plan.
Council collects and stores your personal information
in relation to school holiday program participation. You
accept the provision of personal information is voluntary
but failing to provide all or part of the sought after
information may mean Council can not process your
application. Information provided by you may be accessed
by government agencies and members of the public in
accordance with relevant legislation. Council is to be
regarded as the agency that holds the information.
Under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection
Act 1998 and the Government Information (Public Access)
Act 2009 you can apply to access records of personal
information Council holds about you, and then apply to
amend or correct personal information.
You can access your personal information by writing to
Council’s Privacy Contact Officer at PO Box 120, Strathfield
NSW 2135. You can view Council’s Privacy Management

CONSENT AND RISK WAIVER
If the applicant is my child/ward, then I consent to his/
her participation in the Strathfield Council school holiday
program. Should my child/ward suffer an injury or there
is an emergency during the program, I authorise Council
or persons subject to Council to arrange for medical
or surgical treatment and/or evacuation services as
Council or persons subject to Council deem necessary.
I agree that any information which I or my child/ward
has supplied to Council may be provided to medical or
emergency staff in the event of an injury, accident or
emergency. I also undertake to pay or reimburse any
costs which may be incurred for any medical attention,
ambulance transport, emergency services or drugs
related to my child/ward while my child/ward is enrolled
with the program.
I understand and accept that the program involves
physical activities and that these activities have an
inherent risk of personal injury and that accidents do
happen. I also understand and accept the risks of possible
injury and harm and physical exertion for which my child/
ward may not be prepared, property damage or loss,
remoteness to normal medical or emergency services,
weather extremes including sudden and unexpected
changes, and evacuation difficulties.
I hereby fully release and agree to indemnify Council, its
officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors and
sponsors from any and all claims for injuries, damages
or loss that may be sustained by my child/ward as a
result of being a participant in the activities connected
or associated with the program. I agree to allow Council
or persons subject to Council to take, print, publish
and show photographs, sound and video recordings of
my child/ward in relation to the program to be used
for Council’s reports and publications including but not
limited to internet and promotional materials. I waive the
right to receive any compensation or make any claim for
the use of such photographs and recordings.
