Commercial HVAC Program
The Commercial HVAC Program provides incentives for the purchase and installation
of energy-efficient natural gas furnaces, boilers, unit heaters, rooftop units, infrared
radiant heaters, and variable speed ECM boiler circulating pumps in commercial new
construction and retrofit applications.

It pays to be efficient...
Available exclusively through SaskEnergy Commercial & Residential Network Members located across Saskatchewan, the Commercial HVAC Program provides incentives to help offset the
incremental price of energy-efficient equipment over the purchase price of standard-efficiency equipment. Incentives are based on the type, size and number of units installed.

• $650 for each eligible furnace in the replacement
market
• $300 for each eligible furnace in new construction

certified high efficiency natural gas
furnaces - 95% AFUE1 with a brushless
DC motor identified on the Natural
Resources Canada website
Rooftop Units
Rooftop Unit Incentives
• $500 for each eligible rooftop unit, plus $100 per ton of cooling capacity
Rooftop Unit Eligibility
• Does not exceed 20 tons
• Provides at least two stages of natural gas heating
• Provides at least SEER 15 cooling for units up
to and including 5 tons

• Provides at least EER3 12 cooling for units larger
than 5 tons
• Must be installed with an economizer
• Must be listed on saskenergy.com as an
‘Eligible Rooftop Unit’

Infrared Radiant Heater Incentives
• $1,000 for each eligible condensing unit
heater for units 40,000 to 149,999 BTU/hr
• $1,000 for each eligible infrared radiant heater
for units 100,000 to 299,999 BTU/hr
• $1,500 for each eligible condensing unit
heater for units 150,000 to 299,999 BTU/hr
Infrared Radiant Heater Eligibility
• Must use natural gas
• Boiler plant less than 400,000 BTU/hr
• Minimum infrared radiant heater input
rating of 40,000 BTU/hr
Circulating Pumps
Pump Incentives
• $250 per Variable Speed ECM Pump
(>=0.15HP and <0.6HP)
• $500 per Variable Speed ECM Pump
(>=0.6HP and <1.0HP)
• $750 per Variable Speed ECM Pump
(>=1.0HP and <=2.0HP)
Pump Eligibility
• Must utilize Variable Speed Electronically
Commutated Motor (ECM) technology and automatically vary output to heating requirements
• Must be installed in a continuous yet variable flow
application with the primary function being
distribution of space heating for the building
(redundant, staged, domestic hot water or on/off
pump applications do not qualify)
• Must be listed on saskenergy.com as an
‘Eligible Pump’
The ENERGY STAR mark is administered and promoted in Canada by Natural Resources Canada and is registered in Canada by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Unit Heater Incentives
• $500 for each eligible infrared radiant heater
for units 40,000 to 99,999 BTU/hr
• High efficiency natural gas condensing
boiler - 90%+ AFUE
• Be listed on saskenergy.com as an
‘Eligible Boiler’
Unit Heaters
• Less than 300,000 BTU/hr
• Must be used in an indoor space heating
application only (outdoor patio heaters do
not qualify)
Qualifying for the Program
• Eligible commercial buildings include, but are not limited to, retail stores, municipal buildings,
churches, community halls, non-profit organizations,
mechanical shops, apartment buildings,
non-residential farm buildings, strip malls, dental
clinics and restaurants.
• This program does not apply to buildings that are directly or indirectly owned or operated by or receive their primary funding from the Province of
Saskatchewan (e.g. hospitals, schools, government departments and ministries or Crown Corporations).
• To be eligible for incentives, applications must be
made through a participating SaskEnergy Network Member.
• Qualifying equipment must be installed by
November 30, 2017 by a participating SaskEnergy Network Member.
• Applicants who receive an incentive must agree not to apply for or receive any rebate or incentive through any other provincial energy efficiency incentive
program in relation to the same unit(s).
• $2,000 for each eligible condensing unit
heater for units larger than 300,000 BTU/hr
Unit Heater Eligibility
• Condensing natural gas unit heater (90%+
thermal efficiency) identified on the
Natural Resources Canada website
• Minimum heating input of 40,000 BTU/hr
