Once again the Digital Division has conducted a successful exhibition to the benefit of all members of the society. The utilisation of modern technology to upload images and pay fees through Pay Pal has eliminated much of the manual work from yesteryears events. Perusing overseas exhibition entry procedures indicates that this is now the preferred method for many salons. Our digital upload system developed by DD councillor Dennis Nolan has been the instrument of our success and we acknowledge his skills and dedication to this project. The system will undergo further improvement as we learn from our experiences. All entrants will receive a DVD of acceptances and awards, produced by Councillor Pele Leung. We sincerely thank Pele for his valuable contribution. ADPA 2012 received 1400 entries over four sections. The quality and diversity of entries was, to say the least, exceptional. Many of the entries were of high international standard. To those entrants who received acceptances and awards we offer our congratulations. To those who maybe, did not do quite as well, please keep trying as only by competition with the country’s best can you improve your work. It would be remiss of me not to thank our twelve appointed judges. They spent many hours adjudicating the submitted works, and with the large number of entries it was quite a task. The overwhelming majority of entrants have mastered the upload system. A handful did experience problems with multiple entry of the same image, and some have not yet mastered the art of resizing their images. We did receive a number of very small images both in pixel dimensions and file size, so maybe some help is required in this area. It is essential that you review your “entry status summary” as this would indicate problems.
