Ephesians 1:10 FOUR VITAL CONNECTIONS Kids Connection is the name for Ogletown Baptist’s Sunday morning preschool and children’s ministry. We use the word “connection” because each week we seek to bring together the following elements which sin tends to push apart. We are all about . . . Connecting God to Life Connecting Parents to Children Every toy, snack, and game serves as a magnifying glass through which to behold God’s glory. Therefore, we want our children to see God’s hand in every area of life: snack time, strong muscles, warm air, cool water, fingers and toes, bright colors, weather, family members, etc. We must intentionally seek to connect God with all of life. (Psalm 145:4) The most effective and enduring role of the church in the lives of children is to equip and encourage parents in their roles as mom and dad. Therefore, in preschool and children’s ministry, resources are made accessible, prayers are offered, efforts are responsive, and helpful communications are given and received. (Malachi 4:6) Connecting Jesus to Scripture Everyone who influences young lives contributes to the most important mission in the universe: training the next generation to hope in God. Therefore, every diaper changed, every parent greeted, every toy sanitized, every schedule kept, every lesson prepared—is not without significance. If done for Him, all work is worship; all service is mission. (1 Corinthians 15:58) Children need to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ from every portion of Scripture. For example, the feeding of the five thousand shouldn’t become a lesson in sharing, but instead serves as a reminder of the powerful Savior who can supply our every need. We must never separate the Savior from the Scriptures. (John 5:39) Connecting Service to Mission MINISTRY PRIORITIES: We desire to see God glorified in everything we do. WELCOME TO KIDS CONNECTION, where kids explore the wonders of our great God. We truly want to make the few hours your child spends with us the best time of the week! HOW DO WE DO THIS? Through a safe, secure, nurturing, and fun environment, we partner with you to teach your child God’s Word and His amazing plan of salvation through Jesus. Your child will learn through high quality curriculum, along with music, drama, object lessons, games, and more. It truly is a lot of fun! KIDS CONNECTION takes place for your infant to 5th grader every Sunday morning during the 9:00 a.m. service and the 10:30 a.m. service. When you arrive, please make your way to one of the Kids Connection Welcome Desks, where you can register your child. (See the map on the back.) Then a Kids Connection team member will direct you and your child to class. Security is a priority in our Kids Connection classes. Using a Family ID Card, parents and children are checked when they arrive and leave each Sunday through an identification numbering system intended to ensure their safety. General Worship Service Times and Locations: 9:00am in the Sanctuary 10:30am in the OEX When our children learn about God and make Him the treasure of their lives, we are encouraged that God’s glory is being magnified to another generation. To that end, we hope these strategic ministry priorities give you a clear picture of how God might use you to impact lives. EXTRA MILE SERVICE – We need the Ogletown family to look for ways to go the extra mile. Whether it be volunteering more, arriving early, serving guests, or cleaning up, each parent and each volunteer must grow in their love for seeing God at work in the lives of our kids. SMOOTH ROAD AHEAD – We will work toward “smooth road” Sunday mornings that continually meet and exceed expectations both for guests and regular attenders. As we make sure people are warmly greeted, rooms are adequately staffed, and kids are learning truth in a memorable way, we believe that God will use each Sunday as a consistent deposit in the lives of our children. TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION – Communication is always a critical component of ministering together. Through technology and social media, Ogletown can work hard to increase communication. Yet, it is important that we see communication going two ways. With the input of parents, volunteers, and our entire church family, we can be unified as we grow and serve together. We will tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. Psalm 78:4 Questions?
