Responsibilities: The Associate Dean is administratively responsible for all matters related to the professional degree (DVM) curriculum and student affairs. The Associate Dean will be expected to assert a leadership role in curriculum development and innovation. The Associate Dean will have oversight of the infrastructure for programs related to student learning (admissions, curriculum, graduation), and documentation of academic department and college program reviews, including those required by the Board of Regents, Department of Education, AVMA-COE, and U.S. Higher Education Learning Commission. The individual will serve on the Dean’s Leadership and Administrative Council which advises the Dean in projects and planning for the College. The Associate Dean will also oversee the student programs/support office including academic standards, student resources and academic IT/student laptop support and related budget and personnel management. The Associate Dean will also be responsible for enrolling professional degree students in the DVM degree curriculum, provide support to college committees involved in academic standards, curriculum and ethical behavior. The Associate Dean will also be expected to represent the College of Veterinary Medicine as a member of University Committees involved in academic policies and represent the college as a liaison to the university Office of Student Financial Assistance and the Office of Student Access (disabilities). The Associate Dean will also be expected to coordinate the Veterinary Career Development Course and will supervise all personnel assigned to their office and oversee the College Library Director and staff.
