X100 Extinguishing control for company security www.siemens.de/buildingtechnologies Protection for life and assets in the event of fire There have been numerous fire catastrophes harming or even destroying human lives, material assets or cultural heritage. In most cases, the environment has been equally affected. These damages and consequential losses have become more and more cost-intensive due to automated operating procedures, a steadily increasing concentration of valuable property and expanding networking of value flows. Structural fire protection is not sufficient to safeguard human lives and material assets appropriately. Active fire precautions have to be taken additionally to make sure a fire is reliably detected at the earliest stage and nipped in the bud with an extinguishing system. Otherwise, the ability to deliver can no longer be sustained which may lead to business interruptions and manufacturing stoppages or even to a loss of the market. 2 Fire detection at an early stage combined with an extinguishing system – the secure method to minimize risks Today’s numerous operational areas require specific extinguishing concepts which meet possible hazards. In the chemical industry, for instance, water extinguishing agents may not be used for gas, liquid or metal fires. Powder or foam extinguishing agents are applied to extinguish these fires within a few seconds. Pre-controlled sprinkler systems in turn are used e.g. for the protection of commercial and industrial buildings as well as for hotels and hospitals because they trigger selectively and extinguish only where it is necessary. The activated sprinklers facilitate the fire brigade’s extinguishing works by restricting the fire to its origin. Server rooms and distribution rooms are often protected by gas extinguishing systems with different gas types. However, all these extinguishing systems have one thing in common: They can only work effectively and precisely if the extinguishing system is reliably and duly triggered by the fire detection and fire alarm system. X100 1LB Compact extinguishing system The solution – extinguishing systems X100 The extinguishing systems X100 are the first control devices in Germany which enable all current extinguishing systems to be triggered in accordance with the European Standard EN 12094-1. The triggering units (valves) of foam and gas extinguishing systems, water systems and powder systems as well as the corresponding alarm devices are activated with these extinguishing systems. The command to trigger the extinguishing system is given by the fire detection and fire alarm system using the extended standard interface for extinguishing (‘SST by VdS – German Underwriters’). The common functions such as the control of the actuating cylinder of the group valves and the switching to the standby battery can be carried out without any expensive installation or programming efforts. X100 1LB Compact extinguishing system The X100 extinguishing system for one extinguishing zone in the elegant FS20 housing. The X100 1LB Compact extinguishing system is delivered fully wired and assembled. The extinguishing system is prepared for connection via the Sinteso FDnet detector loop and can be connected quite easily directly to SIGMASYS Sinteso or FS20 control units. The X100 1LB Compact can also be controlled from other fire alarm control and indicator panels via the integrated SMxx extinguishing interface. 3 Extinguishing system X100 WS Extinguishing system X100 WS The modular and integrated extinguishing system X100 wall cabinet allows for up to 6 extinguishing zones to be installed. Furthermore, the X100 WS can be equipped with an optional SIGMASYS M (module) together with a DT1000 or SIGMANET operating panel. This method allows for a fire detection and fire alarm system to be implemented in combination with an extinguishing system in one wall cabinet. Extinguishing system X100 SS The modular and integrated extinguishing system X100 wall cabinet allows for 12 extinguishing zones to be installed. 4 Extinguishing system X100 SS Both extinguishing systems are equipped with the same control panels to operate the individual extinguishing zones. A clear survey is given by the plain text display of the extinguishing zone functions and the system status displayed by LEDs. The function keys, which are directly assigned to the LEDs, are used to specifically act on the extinguishing zone. Extinguishing control X100 One extinguishing control panel is assigned to each extinguishing zone. Depending on the system type, the X100 will be equipped with zone control panels for gas extinguishing or sprinkler zones. Remote extinguishing control panel DT1000 operating panel SIGMANET operating panel Avoidance of false triggering thanks to X-Logic A false triggering of extinguishing systems may lead to material damage and business interruptions. X-Logic was developed in order to securely prevent such incidences. An extinguishing activation is carried out only if the outputs to the extinguishing zones are released in a correct sequence. Flexibility by using remote extinguishing control panels Up to three additional remote zone control panels can be connected to an extinguishing zone (e.g. at the entrances to an extinguishing zone). Software diagnostic tool A software diagnostic tool with serial computer interface and corresponding software is available to support the commissioning and documentation of the system. DT1000 operating panel The DT1000 operating panel has an ergonomic design and is operated using the touch screen and function keys which can be freely para-meterized. The color display (touch screen) is supported by self-explanatory buttons and offers a clear survey of all the information given by the fire detection and fire alarm system. SIGMANET operating panel The SIGMANET operating panel is used to operate SIGMASYS control and indicating equipment networked via SIGMANET. In addition to the menu-driven operation, there are six keys for customer-specific functions which can be freely parameterized. The information provided by the fire alarm and fire detection system is shown on a plain text display. 5 Technical data Per extinguishing zone Quantity Output monitored control line for actuator 4 Supply voltage 24 V Imax = 2 A (not short-circuit-proof) Output monitored control line for alarming and LED 2 Supply voltage 24 V Imax = 2 A (not short-circuit-proof) Inputs monitored control lines (MPL) 9 3.3 kΩ, idle, 560 Ω alarm resistance Outputs for monitored alarm lines supervised on standard interface (VdS – German Underwriters) 7 3.3 kΩ, idle, 560 Ω alarm resistance Outputs not monitored 6 24 V / 100 mA, short-circuit-proof Quiescent current consumption incl. extinguishing control panel General 120 mA X100 1LB Compact X100 Wall cabinet X100 Floor cabinet max. 1 max. 6 max. 12 1 x 24 V / 5 A 1-2 x 24 V / 5 A 1-3 x 24 V / 5 A Extinguishing zones Power supply Mains 115 – 230 V AC (–15% / +10%), 47 – 63 Hz Battery 17 Ah 65 Ah or 130 Ah Standby period 72 h Humidity according to EN 60549 ≤ 95% relative Permitted ambient temperature 0 °C bis +40 °C Protection class IP 30 Color ergo gray Color of the cap RAL 9010 – – 260 x 430 x 398 420 x 600 x 1200 420 x 600 x 2200 SIGMASYS M Sinteso (M-module) – 1 (optional) – Operating panel DT1000 – 1 (optional) – SIGMANET operating panel – 1 (optional) – Measurements in mm (D x W x H) Standards and guidelines CE mark of conformity 6 EN 12094-1 European Standard Fixed fire-fighting systems Components for gas extinguishing systems VdS 2496 Guidelines for the control of extinguishing systems VdS equipment approval for X100 1LB Compact S54391-C1-A1 G208188 extinguishing control X100 wall /floor cabinet G201077 VdS system approval for control and indicating equipment SIGMASYS M G297043 Order specifications X100 1LB Compact Designation Order number Notes S54391-C1-A1 Delivered fully wired with: X100 control panel, 150 W power supply, SMxx extinguishing interface, FDCIO 224 input/output module FA2005-A1 battery (12V,17Ah) A5Q00019677 Not included with S54391-C1-A1 package.
