2016-2017 Applications will be accepted February 1, 2016 – July 28, 2016 The Staff Council Textbook Scholarship awards a $400 textbook stipend for the 2016-17 academic year; ($200) for fall 2016 and ($200) for spring 2017. This scholarship is open to fulltime UTEP staff pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Application requirements: Complete a Staff Council Textbook Scholarship Application form. Submit an essay outlining your educational goals/objectives and the potential impact of the scholarship on your academic and professional goals. Essay should be a minimum of 250 words. Submit one letter of recommendation from a professor or supervisor. Submit an unofficial transcript from the last institution you have attended. Submit a current resume. Scholarship Criteria: Academic achievement and professional accomplishments. Statement of goals and career interests. Current Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Eligibility: This scholarship is only open to classified and A&P staff members who have been employed at UTEP for no less than six continuous months before the beginning of the semester of enrollment (student employees are excluded). UTEP employees who are currently admitted and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree; must be in a degree-seeking program. Applicants must be enrolled in at least three (3) credit hours at UTEP during the 2016-17 fall and spring semesters. Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 at the undergraduate level or 3.0 at the graduate level.
