Continuing our exploration

films of John Huston. We

What is a millennial?
Officially, an individual
born roughly between 1982
and 2004 is classified as
a millennial. Millennials
are the most racially and
ethnically diverse group out
of all other generational groupings. Raised during
a period of exponential technological development,
individuals within this demographic are also
considered to be the most technologically-oriented
out of all other generational cohorts. Come learn
more about millennials in this fun session, taught

MIL 663 30 Campus Safety – Active Shooter/
Violent Intruder Awareness
An active shooter is
defined as an individual
who is actively engaged in
killing or attempting to kill
people. In most cases active
shooters use a firearm(s)
and display no pattern
or method for selection of their victims. Most
recently, there have been active shooters at college
campuses, malls and movie theaters. Join the MCC
campus safety team to learn best practices and
enhanced lock-down procedures during an active
shooter event. This is information you can use not
only on the MCC campus, but anywhere.

MIL 664 30 Contrasting Coasts
MIL 665 30 Women in the Middle Ages
First we will visit the rocky
coastline of Maine with its
characteristic lighthouses.
We will explore various
interesting sights and
historical places along
the way. We’ll hike several
trails in Acadia National Park and visit some of
the less visited parts of the park. Then we’ll travel
south to learn about the sandy beaches, coral reefs
and wetlands of coastal Florida. We’ll visit several
national parks and wildlife refuges with great
opportunities to see wetland birds such as ibis,
egrets, roseate spoonbills, wood storks and many
more. We’ll see alligators and even the elusive
crocodile up close. We hope you can join us.
Joan of Arc, Eleanor of
Acquitaine, Hildegarde of
Bingen, and St. Theresa
were highly regarded
during the Middle Ages,
and there were chapels for
Mary everywhere. Recent
research indicates women in the Middle Ages had
more choices than for several centuries afterward.
Did reverence for the Virgin Mary affect attitudes
about women? What was life like for ladies, serfs,
craftswomen, nuns and beguines?
Presenter: Ron Reynolds, MILES member and avid traveler.

in the US. Many of the best
films are about women. We

and Portrait of Teresa (1979)
Lucia is considered one of the best Cuban films as
well as one of the 100 best films ever made. Portrait

HOME OF THE BRAVE
By Lila Rose Kaplan
Directed by Sean Daniels
Wednesday, May 4, 2016
What happens in the barn stays in the barn.
Senator Bernadette Spence is ready to run for President. Now,
she just has to get her family on board. She returns to her
Iowa home for the holidays with her dashing British campaign
manager at her side. What could possibly go wrong? Just about everything, it
turns out. This raucous, big-hearted comedy pits politics against family values
and lovingly skewers them both.
Tickets will be purchased at the door for $35.
Time of show: 7:30pm. There will be a community conversation after the show for all attendees.
All participants need to rsvp to Caitlin at campopianoc@middlesex.mass.edu so we get an
