Working on a 2003 Audi 2.0 FSi - AWA engine (not covered specifically by ACR4 software but able to
scan without entering specific engine code).
Fault codes are:
19594 Unknown but checked elsewhere - comes up as Intake Manifold Runner Control regulation
deviation.
17480 NOx Sender Heating Contol Signal
16684 Misfiring Recognised Present
16687 Cyl 3 Misfire
16686 Cyl 2 Misfire
16785 EGR System flow insufficient
17912 Air Intake System s/c to another valve
I take it that there is a misfire on at least 2 cylinders, but maybe others as the random misfire fault has
appeared. Also an EGR valve fault & intake possible leak, plus intake regulation flap incorrect position.
The NOx sensor fault may be due to the misfire normally, except the fault for the heating circuit has
appeared therefore it may be a NOx sensor or control box/wiring fault.
My question is, although there may be a few faults listed, I am guessing that most are linked to a single
problem. Anyone out there come across a similar problem on an Audi or VW with an FSi engine?
General driving symptoms are lack of power, misfiring, poor idle, poor fuel consumption, but not all the
time.

yes mate i have had at least 8 in with differing degrees of success but i know you sometimes need to
have the ecu recal when certain sensors on inlet manifold have been changed throttle poten being one,
vagcom do software for this

Thanks for the info. I have seen elesewhere on the net there is a software update for the Turbo model

FSi engines, wasn't sure if it was relevant to the non turbo engines. Would be worth getting the customer
to check with Audi re. recalls etc.

Update:
Nox Sensor replaced - a hefty £460+VAT approx, Nox sensor fault gone.
Faults still come up as:
19594 unknown fault - could be intake flap fault - strange on as this comes up again after clearing and
turning ignition off then on - even without starting engine.
16785 EGR System present fault
17912 Air Intake system...present...s/c to another valve
Also a misfire on no.2 cylinder occasionally.
Symptoms are poor idling intermittantly and loss of power.
Need to remove the inlet manifold as this is getting very boring - need to check for air leaks or intake flap
malfunction.
