Fifth Light DALI Verified Devices
In order to ensure compatibility and performance, Eaton requires that any DALI
device, such as fluorescent ballasts or LED drivers, connected to a Fifth Light DALI
Interface Module to fully comply with the DALI standard and pass the DALI tests as
described in IEC 62386 (Edition 1.0, 2009-06) standard.
The current DALI compliance process relies on the manufacturer self-testing their
DALI devices. This self-certification opens the door to potential interoperability
issues caused by misinterpretation of the standard by the different manufacturers
offering DALI devices.
To provide piece of mind to customers using Fifth Light and DALI ballasts and
drivers and minimize interoperability risks, Eaton has decided to perform testing on
DALI devices connecting to the Fifth Light system as a value-added service.
In the list below you can find the DALI devices that have been already tested and
verified with the Fifth Light system by Eaton.
If there is a device you would like to use on a project that is not on the “Fifth Light
Verified DALI Devices” list, contact your Eaton’s Cooper Controls sales
representative or Eaton’s Cooper Controls Technical Support for details on how to
get these devices tested by Eaton.
Note: With the upcoming introduction of Edition 2 of the IEC 62386, the DALI-AG
organization, responsible for the DALI logo licensing, will require manufacturers to
test their devices through a third party test-house or using a pre-approved DALI test
platform; hence eliminating interoperability issues encountered with some DALI
Edition 1 devices.
