Responses to the 2015 Diploma, Associate Degree and
Certificate Student Outcomes and the Apprenticeship Student
Outcomes surveys were recently added to the BC Student
Outcomes Dashboard. The Dashboard, a partnership between
the Ministry of Advanced Education, participating institutions
and a number of other organizations – including the Industry
Training Authority (ITA), provides snapshots of student
feedback on their educational experience.
A total of 907 College of the Rockies students responded
between 2013-2015. Of those, 93 percent were satisfied with
the education they received at the College and 83 percent found
that their education was either very or somewhat useful in
helping them to find employment.

After winning the PACWEST provincial championships, the
women's Avalanche team was off to Charlottetown, PEI for the
National Championships. The team lost in straight sets to The
King's University Eagles to start off the tournament. They then
faced the Holland Hurricanes in the bronze quarter-finals. After
a hard-fought and VERY close match, the Avalanche lost a
heartbreaker 3-2. They then moved on to the placement game
against the MSVU - needing only four sets to take down the
Mystics and win the match. In the end, our Avs ended the
tournament ranked #7. We're so proud of the season they've
had and can't wait to watch next season.
The Avalanche were also named the winners of the PACWEST
Founder's Cup. This award goes to the institution with the best
improvement in aggregate points from the previous season.
Way to go, Avs.

College of the Rockies' first-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing
students hosted a 'Spring into Health' Fair on March 31. Held at
the Baker Street Professional Centre, the Fair consisted of eight
booths with students providing information on eight different
health issues. In addition to providing valuable knowledge to the
public, this was an excellent opportunity for our students to
develop teaching and learning skills and to engage with the
public in a meaningful way.

Annual Career and Job Fair
On Wednesday, March 9th we were proud to host yet another
highly successful Career and Job Fair. Offered in partnership
with Kootenay Business Magazine, the Cranbrook and District

the event saw about 700 people networking with potential

another successful event next year.
