Call for Papers for the 2016 Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS 2016) Dear Colleague, The 4th annual Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS) will be held as part of the National Hydropower Association's Waterpower Week in Washington, April 25-­‐27, 2016, at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. METS provides a venue where technical experts can publish and present wave and water current energy research that helps accelerate the pace of technology development. Holding METS in conjunction with the International Marine Renewable Energy Conference (IMREC) and the NHA Annual Conference will provide researchers with the invaluable opportunity to interact with public and private industry stakeholders. METS2016 Call for Papers The METS 2016 organizing committee is seeking 3-­‐5 page extended abstracts that focus on the design, analysis, environmental evaluation, and socio-­‐economic evaluation of wave energy and water current energy converter technologies. Specific areas of interest are: • • • • • • • • • • • • • Device design, analysis, simulation, and optimization Environmental effects’ evaluation and simulation Resource assessment and characterization Laboratory and open water experimental testing Materials and coatings Design and analysis of mooring systems Array layout and optimization Device deployment strategies Operations and maintenance strategies Cost-­‐of-­‐energy modeling Code validation and verification Marine energy related social science research Governmental policy and regulatory considerations Authors whose extended abstracts are accepted will be given the opportunity to give a podium presentation or participate in the poster session.
