Homecoming Mum Sales Happening Now!
Sales for this year's Homecoming Mums run Wednesday, September 14 through Monday, October 3. Early Bird
Special: $5 discount if ordered by Friday, September 23. These are beautiful, handcrafted mums made with
pride by Cougar Band parents for the entire school. Sales are during lunch. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
we are in the Main Commons. Tuesday and Thursday in the 9th Grade Cafeteria.
Attendance
Parents are asked to remind their children they must sign out through attendance when leaving campus for ANY
reason unless they are going to Miller Career or have work release in their schedule (for example, Dr.
appointments, leaving early, etc.). If students do not sign out prior to leaving, they will be considered truant and
will have a discipline notice write up.

The Class of 2017 is selling the always-popular fire roasted salsa again this year! Pricing is $6/jar or $30/case of

Catalyst's SAT and ACT Bootcamps at Katy ISD are coming up!
These momentum building weekend seminars give students the insight and confidence they need on the day of
the test. Students will also leave with Catalyst's self-study materials for sustained practice right up until the

CATS Information Session
Students are invited to attend an informational session about CATS (Cougars Achieving Through Service) on
Wednesday, September 28 in the LGI. Students may come to the morning session at 7:00am or the afternoon
meeting after school. Refreshments will be served. To learn more about this volunteering program, visit the
CRHS website, select “Students,” then “Student Zone,” and click “CATS” on the right column. Information is
also available through the PTSA website at www.crhsptsa.org.
Bravo Show Choir Production
The Cinco Ranch High School Bravo Show Choir presents Rogers and Hammerstein’s “A Grand Night for
Singing” on September 29, 30 and October 1 at 7:30pm in the Cinco Ranch High School Performing Arts
Center. Advance tickets are priced at $8 and are available from Bravo members, in the CRHS Choir Room, by
calling 281-237-5203/281-237-5204 or emailing melanieppiche@katyisd.org. Tickets sold at the door are
$10. The Katy ISD Gold Card will be honored with a $5 ticket price. The box office opens at 6:30pm and the
house at 7:00pm. This is an open seating event. “A Grand Night for Singing” is a musical revue showcasing the
music of Rogers and Hammerstein. Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, has given a fresh take to the music of
these classic composers. The show opened on Broadway in 1994, and received 2 Tony nominations including
Best Musical. It features different interpretations of favorite Rogers and Hammerstein songs. A guy sings about
his “problem with Maria”, and “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair” has a real Andrews Sisters
feel. “Honeybun” and “Kansas City” are also among the many songs featured in the show. Come enjoy singing
and dancing to the music of Rogers and Hammerstein. You will leave “A Grand Night for Singing” with a
smile on your face, humming its wonderful tunes!
Theatre Production
Come rock out at Cinco Ranch Theatre Company’s production of Rock of Ages: High School Edition by Chris
D’Arienzo. Featuring some of the greatest hits of the 80s, we follow a small town girl, Sherrie, and a city boy,
Drew, as they chase their dreams of making it. Show dates will be October 13 and 14 at 7:30pm and October 15
at 1:30pm and 7:30pm in the Cinco Ranch High School Performing Arts Center. The box office opens on
October 3 and can be reached at 281-237-5290 Monday-Friday from 10:00am-3:00pm. Tickets will be sold in
advance for $15 for adults and $11 for students and Gold Card Members. Tickets will also be sold at the door
for $18 for adults and $13 for students and Gold Card Members. Online tickets are available
at www.crtcbooster.com, and a convenience fee of $0.75 will be added to each ticket. Hope to see you there!
The CRHS PTSA bi-annual garage sale is Saturday, October 8. Many students and parents are needed to help
make this event successful. Further instruction and explanation is on the Sign Up Genius link below. If you are

Homecoming Parade: Lassoing Cougar Pride
The 2nd Annual Cinco Ranch Homecoming Parade will be Monday, October 17 at 6:00pm! The parade is
sponsored by the Cinco Ranch Athletic Booster Club and is open to all clubs and students. This year we have a
new parade route winding from CRHS, down Commercial Boulevard and then onto Cinco Village Center Drive
and returning to CRHS. Attached are the parade guidelines and registration form. We hope you will be able to
participate!

2016 Homecoming Parade Guidelines
New Parade Route
(see attached flyer for map)
October 17th starting at 6:00 pm from CRHS rear parking lot to
Commercial Blvd right onto Cinco Village Center and returning to CRHS
(Be there at 5:00 pm. Parade position assigned day of parade.)
Theme: Lassoing Cougar Pride
Each organization or club is invited to participate
 An adult (21 years or older) must drive the float or vehicle.
 Floats cannot exceed 40 feet in length, 10 feet in width and 13 feet in
height. Please make sure your vehicle can navigate all turns on parade
route.
 School dress code is in effect for all participants.
 Floats and decorations are at the at the expense of the club/organization.
 Floats may not be housed at the high school.
 Items may NOT be THROWN from vehicles, but can be handed to
spectators.
 Sponsor or approved parent needs to supervise all students of float.
 KISD student code of conduct rules apply at all times.
 The sponsor and principal must approve all floats.
 Please attach a copy of the insurance card for the vehicle that will be
pulling the float. The vehicle owner is responsible for the liability of the
float vehicle.

Who is it for:
Any student interested in cheerleading in grades K-5th.
Purpose:
The purpose of this clinic is to teach students about cheerleading technique and exhibiting school and team spirit.
Students will learn chants, cheers, jumps, and practice spiriting.
When:
Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9:00am-2:00pm. Parents arrive at gym at 2:00pm for a “show off” and bring your
cameras for pictures.

Instruction:
Students will be divided by school grade and will learn age appropriate routines from the 2016-2017 CRHS
cheerleaders.
What to Wear:
Shorts, shirts, and tennis shoes. Please have hair secured in a ponytail. Upon arrival, girls can change into their
clinic t-shirt if they wish.
Show-Off Performance:
All participants (pre-registered and late registered) will have the opportunity to perform at the JV football game vs.
Mayde Creek on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Participants will wear their clinic t-shirt or a CRHS maroon t-shirt to
the game. Participants will have free admission to the game with shirt, but parents will need to purchase a ticket.
Refreshments:
Participants need to bring a light snack (i.e. goldfish/fruit snacks) and sack lunch to enjoy during the day. Due to
allergies, please do not send peanut butter. Also, lunches and snacks need to NOT require heating. We encourage
all participants to bring their own water bottle labeled with their name.

Reservations are not guaranteed until payment is received. Credit card

Reservation space is a 8.5’ x 18.5’ parking slot plus a vehicle parking space.

Katy Christian Ministries truck will be available to take unsold items. All
items must be in bags or boxes. Please no computers, exercise equipment,
mattresses/box springs.
KISD Security is on premises and appropriate conduct is required.
