Fort Worth/Mid‐Cities Members Attend ATD Texas Chapters Regional Summit in San Antonio Steve Moreland, President | March 11, 2016 The ATD Fort Worth/Mid‐Cities (FW/MC) chapter was well‐represented at the annual Regional Summit, held this year in San Antonio, March 4‐5. FW/MC members in attendance were:  Cynthia Alderman, VP Events  Carlene Coover, VP Marketing  Steve Moreland, President  Susan Wines, VP Records. As usual, there are so many ideas that we certainly can’t do implement all of them. But we took some good notes on some possible things we can do to build excitement about our chapter. FW/MC was the first presentation on the agenda Friday. “The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with 9 Steps,” was well‐received by the attendees. We shared some of the great things FW/MC is doing and people were engaged in the presentation. I was really proud of Cindy, Carlene and Susan. Not only did they do great jobs on their parts of our presentation, but personally, it was exciting to see their enthusiasm and their valuable contributions to the discussions. Here’s a quick list of some of the things we learned from other presentations:  great tools on td.org member center to show members the value of power membership  brainstorming exercise on how Texas chapters can collaborate on webinars  Since this is the last year that ATD will be doing the Certificate workshops, Amanda Boucher, our CRM (Chapter Relations Manager) told us they are working on a couple of other programs that will make us money.  ideas for conducting Employee Learning Week (check out Employee Learning Week toolkit at td.org)  We saw a presentation from the winner of the San Antonio throwdown (a competition where participants gave presentations on how to improve chapters).  ATD update and CARE information  maximizing capabilities of Wild Apricot  strategies for promoting chapter activities using social media  how to attract and leverage volunteers. This was a lot of great information and if we implement a few in our chapter, we can continue to add more value for our members. Yes, the information was fantastic, but for me, the best thing about attending the summit is the opportunities we get to forge new relationships and strengthen existing ones. The 2017 Regional Summit will be held in Austin.
