Protect IT Protection from the unexpected What is Protect IT? Protect IT offers a range of insurance options for your laptop or tablet device. Depending on the option you select, it protects you against the following incidents ensuring that your device may be either replaced or repaired: Liquid spills Accidental drops Accidental damage to LCD screen Theft from the school Theft from a vehicle Why purchase Protect IT? Protect IT gives you a choice of two cover options: • Accidental Damage • Accidental Damage and Theft Your cover will vary depending on your level of protection, but as a minimum Protect IT gives you peace of mind that should your device be accidentally damaged: • You will not have to pay for repairs, only the excess • You will not pay freight charges to send your device to the repair centre • You will not have to pay for any new software – it comes preloaded again for free • You can claim multiple times • If your device is not repairable it will be replaced * What Protect IT covers If you have cover for accidental damage here are some examples of how your device may be replaced or repaired. CAUSE OF ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE RESOLUTION DESCRIPTION Liquid accidentally spilled on or in the device Repaired or device replaced Device accidentally drops, falls and other similar impact Repaired or device replaced The device LCD screen is accidentally damaged Repaired If you have cover for theft here are some examples of how your device may be repaired or replaced. THEFT INCIDENT RESOLUTION DESCRIPTION Stolen from the locked boot of a vehicle with signs of forced entry Replaced Stolen by force or intimidation where you can describe the thief Replaced Stolen from a secured locker in the school Replaced Damaged or broken LCD from an attempted theft Repaired Some things may not be covered * There could be occasions when you are not covered and these include: • You have not taken reasonable care to prevent the accidental damage • The damage occurs when someone else is using your device • Any claim where the device was left unattended in an unsecured location • Any secure location theft claim where due care was not taken to store the device out of sight What you must do if you have a claim 1. Before you contact us Here are some important things to know before you contact us. Privacy Check Your privacy is important to us and as such, we can only speak with the person listed on the policy. If you wish for another person to act on your behalf, you will need to contact us to provide your authorisation for us to speak with them. Information we will need you to provide Details of the device claimed • Your original sales receipt or contract number • The Manufacturers Name, Model Number and Serial Number for the device For Accidental Damage Claims • The date the damage occurred • A detailed description of how the damage occurred • A description of the damage to the device • A colour photograph showing the damage • We will ask for the damaged device to be made available to us for assessment For Theft Claims • The date the theft occurred • A description of how the theft occurred • We will ask you to report the theft to the police • We will ask you to complete a Claim form and to provide the police incident report number, the police officer’s name and their contact details. 2. How to lodge a Claim You may lodge your claim at www.claimstwg.nua.com.au or call 1300 786 225 for assistance. Excess* Your policy may have an excess that must be paid before we can process your claim. For your convenience you can pay your excess by credit card over the phone at the time of lodging your claim or alternatively by direct debit into our account.
