PowerPoint Design Tools: Using Hidden Slides This tutorial shows how to use hidden slides to add additional content to a presentation and access it during the presentation. This is helpful when you want to keep the general presentation short but want to be able to address potential questions that you may anticipate. In this example we will create a hidden slide that provides additional content on a topic. 1. To start, open your PowerPoint 2007 presentation. 2. First, create the main topic slide by selecting the desired slide layout. 3. You can create the slide with whatever content you want. 4. Next, create the slide that will become the hidden slide and put additional information on it that relates to the main topic slide. Option 1: Select an object and add a hyperlink by going to the “Insert” tab and clicking “Hyperlink.” Next, select “Place in this Document” and select the slide. Option 2 Add an action button that links to this slide by going to “Insert Shapes Action Buttons”. Next, select “Hyperlink to:” and the Slide name. 7. The final step will be to right-click on the hidden slide and select Hidden. 8. This slide will only appear when the object on the main slide is clicked on. You can repeat this step as many times as you want. The benefit of using the action button to return to previous slide would be if you had multiple slides that needed to reference this same slide – it wouldn’t matter which slide you accessed this hidden slide from, you can always return to the previously viewed slide.
