4000 / 5000 Series Steer and Tandem
FEATURES
AxleTech’s high speed planetary 4000 / 5000 Series steer and tandem axles are suitable
for heavy duty applications where sustained higher vehicle speeds and longer operating
distances are integral requirements.

and fabricated steel housings are
designed specifically for each family
of axles and can accommodate
a range of bracket locations
• Drum style brakes include wedge and S-cam
• Disc style brakes include air and hydraulic
• Multiple axle ratios available to match steer and tandems
• Wheel ends are available with provisions for ABS and CTIS, with 3 and 4 planet versions
• Carriers are available with multiple differential options, including limited slip, driver control
differential lock, open differential, and inter-axle differentials

• Thrust screw in carrier provides ring gear support in high torque loadings
• Limited slip differential with a 2.0 bias ratio is available for improved traction
