Ground Handling
Battery
The electrical system utilizes one 24V Ni-Cad battery, one 24V Lead Acid battery or two 12V
Lead Acid batteries, located behind the firewall of the left engine in the electrical equipment
compartment. Access is gained by removing the upper door of the compartment, located aft of
the left nacelle firewall.
Emergency Exits
Left rear cabin door. Right front cabin window has emergency release.
External Power
The external power receptacle is located on the outboard side of the left engine nacelle and uses
a standard AN-type plug. This aircraft requires a 28V, DC, negative ground power unit.
CAUTION: Battery switch must be ON and all electrical switches OFF prior to connecting
ground power unit plug: assure that avionics power is OFF prior to turning the ground power unit
ON. Battery must be ON anytime ground power unit is in use. Alternator or generator switch
must be OFF while using external power.
Fueling
Standard configuration incorporates four interconnected fuel tanks in each wing with one filler
port for each set. Fueling should be accomplished slowly to allow the fuel to feed between tanks.
Maximum capacity: 207 gals. (standard), 237 gals. (optional tip tanks); Minimum grade: 100/130
green, or 100LL blue
CAUTION: DO NOT insert the fuel nozzle more than three inches into the filler neck. The
nozzle may damage the rubber fuel cell.
Grounding
Static grounding requires the fuel dispenser be grounded to the landing gear.
Hydraulic Reservoir
The brake fluid reservoir is located on the aft frame of the forward baggage compartment door.
Loosening the screw that secures the reservoir to the aircraft structure allows the reservoir to
swing out for servicing. Fluid type: MIL-H-5606 red hydraulic fluid.
Engine Oil
Access to the engine oil filler port and dipstick is gained by opening an access door in the top of
each engine cowl. Capacity: 13 qts. (each engine); Type: reciprocating
Oxygen Service
The oxygen cylinders may be mounted either under the nose baggage compartment floor or
behind the aft pressure bulkhead. Access to the forward-mounted filler valve is gained by
opening the nose baggage compartment door. Access to the aft-mounted filler valve is gained by
removing a small panel on the lower left side of the tailcone, aft of the cabin door.
Parking Brake
The parking brake is set by pulling out the brake control and depressing the pilot's brake pedals
to pressurize the system. The brake is released by pushing the control forward.
