CIRRUS AIRPLANE MAINTENANCE MANUAL MODEL SR20 FLIGHT COMPARTMENT 1. DESCRIPTION Flight compartment interior lighting consists of instrument lights, glareshield flood lights, overhead dome light, individual reading lights, pilot control lights, CAPS handle light, alternate air control light, circuit breaker panel lights, and interior footwell lights. (See Figure 33-101) A. Instrument Lighting Instrument lighting for the airplane consists of dimmable incandescent lights in the instrument bezels. The lights are controlled through the INSTRUMENT control knob on the bolster switch panel. Rotating the knob clockwise energizes the lights and increases brightness. The lights are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 2-amp INST LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 1. B. Glareshield Light Strip A string of dimmable LEDs mounted under the instrument panel glareshield provide flood lighting for the instrument panel. The LEDs are controlled through the PANEL control knob on the bolster switch panel. Rotating the knob clockwise energizes the lights and increases brightness. The LEDs are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 3-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 2. C. Cabin Dome Light Serials 1005 thru 2015, 2016 & subs w/o Perspective Avionics: General cabin lighting is provided by a dimmable dome light located in the headliner at the approximate center of the cabin. The light is controlled through the OVERHEAD control knob on the bolster switch panel. Rotating the knob clockwise energizes the light and increases brightness. The light is powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 3amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 2. Serials 2016 & subs w/ Perspective Avionics and w/o Convenience Lighting: General cabin lighting is provided by a dome light located in the headliner at the approximate center of the cabin. The light is controlled by a ceiling-mounted switch and is powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 5-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 1. Serials 2303 & subs w/ Convenience Lighting: General cabin lighting is provided by a dome light located in the headliner at the approximate center of the cabin. The light is part of the convenience lighting system and is controlled via wireless keyfob or cabin light switch located on the cabin headliner. When the switch is in the AUTO position, the cabin dome light turns on when either cabin door is opened or the doors are unlocked via the wireless keyfob and turns off when both doors are closed or the doors are locked via the wireless keyfob. 28 VDC for cabin dome light operation is supplied through the 3-amp CONV LIGHTS circuit breaker on the CONS Bus. For maintenance practices related to passenger compartment convenience lighting, see Passenger Compartment section of Lights. (Refer to 33-20) For maintenance practices related to entry step convenience lighting, see Exterior Lighting section of Lights. (Refer to 33-40) For maintenance practices related to the convenience system controller, see Electrical Load Distribution section of Electrical Power. (Refer to 24-50) D. Cabin Eyeball Lights Individual eyeball-type reading lights are installed in the headliner above each passenger position. Each light is aimed by positioning the lens in the socket and is controlled by a push-button switch located next to the light. The pilot and copilot reading lights are dimmable through the PANEL control knob on the bolster switch panel. Rotating the knob clockwise increases brightness. Serials 1005 & subs w/o Perspective Avionics: The lights are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 3-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 2. Serials 2016 & subs w/ Perspective Avionics: The lights are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 5-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 1.
