SPECIFICATIONS FOR GROUND CONTROL SYSTEMS™ FIBERGLASS BICYCLE VAULT - BIKE LOCKERS
PART 1: GENERAL
1.1 Summary
This section includes written specifications for the FBV1 and FBV2 Fiberglass Bike Vaults - Bike Lockers.
1.2 Quality Assurance
A. Manufacturer Qualifications:
1. A manufacturer experienced in manufacturing and producing commercial bike parking lockers similar to
the desired specification described for this project with a record of successful in-service performance.
2. Product Options: The manufacturer will be able to produce specific finish and color specifications,
security, and on locker user education based on the specific form and function of the FBV1 and/or FBV2.
3. Manufacturer Service Options: The manufacturer will be able to present product specific drawings of the
bicycle lockers features, sizes (internal and external) shape, dimensional requirements, and weight.
B. Installer Qualifications: Experienced installer has completed surface installations of bike lockers similar in
specifications and to the extent indicated for this project.
1.3 Submittals
A. Product Information: Must contain physical descriptions of product features, parking capacity, dimensions,
shape, installation hardware requirements, and finish options for each bike locker.
B. Installation Drawings and/or Installation Video: Details installation instruction for the designated bike
locker. Drawing packages and submittals can be supplied by Ground Control.
C. Product Verification: Able to submit finish samples for review and verification upon request.
D. Manufacturer’s Project References: Able to provide a minimum of three references for whom the firm
provided similar or comparable services during the last 5 years and a description of the services provided.
E. Warranty: Submit manufacturer’s standard warranty.
1.4 Delivery, Storage and Handling
A. Delivery: In order to ensure shipments are received undamaged, a thorough inspection must be made and
noted on the B.O.L. on the receipt of delivery.
B. Storage: Bicycle lockers should be stored in their original packages or containers until they are ready for
installation.
C. Handling: Before and up to installation, bike lockers should be handled with sufficient care in order to prevent
any finish damage.
1.5 Warranty
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Bike lockers carry a one year limited warranty against defects in materials and
workmanship beginning on the invoice date they are received.

PART 3: EXECUTION
3.1 Examination
Examine footprint to ensure conditions are adequate for installation. Do not proceed with installation if conditions
are not adequate for install. Notify project manager if conditions are unsatisfactory.
3.2 Preparation
Make sure the location of the bike locker is flat, level, square, accurate for alignment, and correctly located for
the installation of the bike lockers(s). Use plastic or metal shims if necessary to offer a flat installation.
3.3 Installation
Surface or Flange Mount: An above ground mount that is attached to the base material through the product
specific flanges with anchors. Concrete surface mount installation requires anchor kit: four 3” x 3/8” Wedge
Anchors (WAK4). Contact Ground Control for anchor kit details and additional mounting options.
3.4 Quoting
A. Product specification: Make sure the product item, finish color, installation hardware, lock options and
expected lead time have been included in estimate.
