ASSESSOR/INTERNAL VERIFIER FOR MOTOR VEHICLE
(Maintenance and Repair, Body Repair, and Paint Finishing)

Sussex Downs College is seeking suitably qualified person(s) for work on a
variable hours basis for the following roles: (this role could be combined for the
right candidate).
1.
Assessor of VCQ in motor vehicle subjects (maintenance and repair,
body repair and paint finishing). Candidates who can cover a number
of disciplines will be particularly welcome.
2.
Internal verifier – for motor vehicle qualification (in the disciplines
above).
The successful applicant will have appropriate occupational qualifications to at
least level 3 as well as experience of working with employers. The ideal
candidate with be qualified in both maintenance and repair, and body/paint.
He/she will also have a current assessor/verifier’s qualification as appropriate,
and experience of working in an FE college. The successful candidate will need
good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to engage
employers and motivate and guide a team of assessors in the IV process.

satisfactory references, health checks, qualifications and immigration status being
satisfied.
Salary
The salary for this post is £14.98 per hour which is NVQ Assessor A rate.
Contract
Fixed term, Variable Hours Support Contract. Expected hours available for each role
are 18.5 hours per week.
Probation
All new variable hours support staff are subject to a 6 month probationary period.
