ZF Honors Four Companies with “Supplier of the Year” Awards

Over 100 suppliers attended ZF’s Supplier Day in Livonia, Michigan, on
September 4 Quadrad Manufacturing, Meadville Forging Company Group, Voit Automotive
de Mexico S.A. de C.V. and Festo Corporation were each honored as a North
American “Supplier of the Year” All four finalists will go on to compete for ZF’s “Global Supplier of the Year”
Award Northville, Mich. — ZF invited its top 100 production suppliers to its 2014 Supplier
Day in Livonia, Michigan, on September 4. Four regional suppliers, Quadrad
Manufacturing, Meadville Forging Company Group, Voit Automotive de Mexico S.A.
de C.V. and Festo Corporation, were presented with a “Supplier of the Year” Award
at the closing awards ceremony. On September 4, ZF’s Supplier Day brought together the company’s top production
suppliers for a day of networking and presentations from ZF’s leadership and purchasing
executives. The day, which featured the market outlook for the North American region,
divisional and business unit updates, as well as small group sessions on various topics,
ended with an awards ceremony. At the event, ZF recognized four of its top North
American suppliers: Quadrad Manufacturing (Linamar Group), Meadville Forging
Company Group, Voit Automotive de Mexico S.A. de C.V. and Festo Corporation. Festo
was the winner in the non-production category, while the other three suppliers were
honored for their excellence in Production Materials. “Ongoing collaboration with dependable, customer-centered suppliers along the supply
chain is essential in preserving our role as a global leader in the automotive industry,” said
Elizabeth Umberson, Vice President, Head of Materials Management, ZF North America.
“Whereas ZF’s success is a result of our partnerships with key suppliers at the regional
and global levels, today we recognize four outstanding companies. These companies have
exceeded our standards for excellence in quality and ethics, which we have come to
expect from all of our suppliers.” Quadrad Manufacturing (Linamar Group) supplies the axle drives business unit and has
won the award for achieving perfect delivery and quality scores. Quadrad reacted quickly
to address customer concerns and to isolate ZF from any negative effects; they have also
worked proactively to close any remaining gap items in order to achieve Strategic Supplier
status. Voit Automotive de Mexico has worked closely with ZF to achieve excellent launch
status while continuously achieving quality and delivery goals; they have been proactive in
generating cost savings ideas and working collaboratively with ZF on reducing costs. Meadville Forging Company has partnered with ZF for years; their participation in ZF’s
steel purchasing program as well as their cooperative relationship with ZF’s engineering
and manufacturing group has resulted in reduced costs for ZF. Festo excelled in
supporting the startup of ZF Transmissions Gray Court in Gray Court, South Carolina in
2013 and 2014, proving that this global supplier offers services and technical support
outside of Germany. Their participation in ZF’s eCatalogue program also reduced
paperwork and ordering costs for ZF. A jury of ZF executives, from purchasing, logistics, quality and technology, selected the
honorees based on a wide array of performance-based categories. All four winners have
been selected to compete for ZF’s Global Supplier of the Year Award, which will be
