INSTRUCTIONS
to be followed in case of loss or damage
Failure to comply with these instructions may prejudice any claim under the policy
1
Inspect goods immediately
In no circumstances, except under written protest, give clean receipt where goods are in doubtful condition

Secure rights of recovery from third parties.
Shipowners, other carriers, forwarding agents, warehouses, customs and port authorities or other bailees must be



requested to attend a joint survey
asked to certify the loss or damage, and
held liable in writing.
where loss or damage is apparent - before taking delivery of the goods, where loss or damage is not apparent immediately upon discovery of said loss or damage.
Ascertain and observe time limits
(e.g. for non-apparent (damage three days after delivery from ocean vessel. for other damage before taking delivery)

Care must be taken to minimise loss or damage and to avert further loss or damage.

For claims exceeding US$ 1.000,-- immediately contact the claims survey agent mentioned in our attached confirmation.
(No survey required for shortlanded packages, if confirmed by shipowners or proved otherwise)

Conditions and packing of goods, stowage of container not to be altered before arrival of the claims survey agent.
Collect temperature- and/or controlled -atmosphere-recorders and - records and present them to underwriters survey
agent only. Surveyor is to be granted full access to the damaged goods, representative samples of goods are inspected
at surveyor’s option. Salvage of damaged goods before survey is to be avoided unless agreed with the surveyor.
Furnish surveyors as soon as possible not only with sales proceeds and - invoices for damaged fruit, but also (if
available) with market prices for sound fruit of same variety at date of
expected (scheduled) time of arrival of the vessel/aircraft/conveyance at port of destination.

For claims expected to exceed US$ 100.000,-- immediate notice by telefax or email must be given to

Please present a full set of documents, in particular:









Claim Bill
Survey Report (only for claims exceeding US$ 1.000,--)
Original Bill of Lading, waybill, or other contracts of carriage or storage
Shipping invoice, for cif-purchases only
Copy of selling invoice for sound fruit of same variety/same voyage if no survey report issued.
Certificate of loss or damage
Correspondence regarding liability of third parties according to clause 2
Documents showing numbers, measurements or weight at time of shipping and arrival - (tally sheets)
Letter of Subrogation as per form attached, blank signed by the party holding the rights under the contact of
carriage.
Prompt settlement of claims can only be effected by Aon in cases where the documents enumerated under clause 7
have been presented to
Aon Risk Solutions, Caffamacherreihe 16, D - 20355 Hamburg, Germany.
Immediate presentation to Aon is therefore in the own interest of the party claiming damage/losses under the policy/certificate of
insurance issued. In any case the documents mentioned must be submitted to Aon well before expiry of any time limits of
carriers etc., as under clause 2 to lease sufficient time for claims against third parties.
