Veterinarian Camp Held At Grove Animal Hospital
We were so happy to host a very large group of children at our
first Veterinarian Camp at Grove
Animal Hospital & Holistic Center.
The camp was held in November
and featured educational opportunities for kids ages 8-12.
The children learned about dog
bite awareness, dental care, radiology, treatments and they also
made terrific works of animalrelated art.
The kids also enjoyed hands on
visits with many animals including
Bronx, mini horse Frosted Flakes,
and the ferrets Dexter & Crash. Thanks to the
Grove staff with help from our team at Riverside
Animal Clinic McHenry for educating our young
friends and introducing them to what you do so
well. We will be planning another Veterinarian
Camp this summer and we’ll post the date in our
newsletter, email reminders and on our website.
DENTAL CARE IMPROVES OVERALL HEALTH AND LONGEVITY
February is Pet Dental Health Month. At Grove we always take the
opportunity to pass along some great wintertime savings for dental
care. (See back coupon for details).
Gum disease is one of the leading causes of heart, kidney and liver
diseases. Professionally cleaning your pet’s teeth
annually can help reduce illness, reverse early
signs of dental disease and lengthen your pet’s
life by up to four years. We know you want
your fur baby around as long as possible so
please see our offer. If you don’t know about
the status of your pet’s oral health, please request a free peek at your pet’s teeth with our
assistants. They will educate you in the four
stages of dental disease and how to care for
your pet’s teeth and gums.
Even though you might often consider dental disease a problem for those
with “DOGGIE BREATH”, cats need dental care, too! Don’t FURRget
them!

twitch lost 8
pounds in 2015!
Our team worked with Twitch all
year by
keeping
him
moving,
feeding
him less
and cutting out
treats.
Limiting
treats
was the
hardest
part of
Twitch’s diet plan because he is a
formidable beggar. Not only is it
hard to turn him down when he
begs for part of your lunch he can
use his heft to demand it! Anyway, he now has a new fountain
on the front desk that has helped
increase his water intake and he
looks great! Give him a pat next
time you’re in. He was 28 pounds
in January 2014 and is now
around 20 pounds.

PARALYZED BEAGLE WALKS
AGAIN
Max was seen at an emergency room
for paralysis of his front legs. His
owner thought he could have injured
himself when he jumped off a piece
of furniture. The options by a conventional vet were expensive specialty surgery or euthanasia. Max’s
owner declined both options and
made an appointment with Dr. Carlson. With the use of the cold laser,
acupuncture and herbal treatments,
Max was off his pain meds in four
days and doing great after three
treatments. There is some residual
effect of the paralysis but he’s able to
go about daily life now. In total,
Max has had 5 acupuncture and laser treatments. We have posted video on our blog showing Max one
month after his first visit. See it on

HOLISTIC SUCCESS STORIES
Zoey is a 13 year old Weimeraner who came to Dr.
Carlson covered in skin tumors and suffering from arthritis pain. Her owners reported that she had declining energy that limited her daily life and changed her
behavior. Dr. Carlson used custom holistic testing to
determine Zoey’s specific imbalances. Cold laser,
which provides a combination analgesic and inflammation relieving effect, was used to help Zoey’s arthritis.
Custom holistic testing revealed Zoey had endocrine
deficiencies. Custom homeopathic drops were infused
for Zoey. We are happy to report the homeopathy and
cold laser worked for this dog and her attitude has
changed for the better. When she visits us now, you
can see her spunk is back and she enjoys her visits with Twitch.
Zoey’s second custom holistic test was run 6 months from the first and she
was completely balanced. “Zoey's overall health has really improved since
starting to see Dr. Carlson. Her fatty tissue masses have shrunk, her coat has
regained its soft shiny texture and her gastro intestinal issues have stopped.
We are extremely pleased with our experiences with Dr. Carlson and his staff
at Grove,” said her owners Mr. & Mrs. Krieberg.
