■ Tommy Gate is proud to introduce the G2 dual drive™ - the next
generation TOMMY LIFT®. These models continue the commitment
to quality and durability that the company has maintained since
1965. The G2 is a heavy-duty dual cylinder design liftgate available
to fit most full-size pickup truck applications.
The G2 Series is also available for Service/Utility Body applications
(see separate literature).

■ A benefit of the dual cylinder design is a robust and more powerful liftgate. The G2 Series uses direct power on both sides of
the platform so lifting and lowering is smooth, stable and even.
Single-cylinder direct liftgates lift with power from only one side;
the platform on a single-cylinder system can torque or twist.
Heavy Duty
Standard Platforms
■ The heavy duty Tommy Gate G2™ Pickup Lift Series is
available with lifting capacities of 1300 or 1500 lbs.
The standard steel G2 platform features a Treadplate
surface. Adding an oversized platform ( see page 5 ) will not
derate (lower) the liftgate’s lifting capacity.

Exactly What You Need
■ The G2 liftgate can be used to move everything
from oil drums to vending machines. A variety of
optional platform sizes and materials are available
(see page 5) to accommodate many applications .

The industry leader since 1965, the Tommy Gate O r i g i n a l S e r i e s
hydraulic liftgate was developed for the pickup truck and continues
to be a leader in quality and value. Pickup Series liftgates are
available for full-size, mid-size and compact pickup trucks.
O r i g i n a l S e r i e s liftgates are available for many more styles of
truck bodies (see back cover).

✚ The Main Frame Box section of the liftgate contains the electrical and hydraulic systems. The Box cover protects the systems from the elements and is easily removable.
Enclosed within the Box is the following standard equipment:
✚ A Pressure Relief Valve helps prevent overloading the platform.
✚ A Cylinder-mounted Flow Control Valve prevents a rapid, uncontrolled platform
descent in the event of a hose failure.
✚ A full-size pump and motor unit powers the liftgate.
✚ Platforms are available in Treadplate Steel, Extruded Aluminum, Tommy Traction
(steel grating), or Smooth Steel (see page 5).
✚ 40" standard maximum gate travel (see page 6) - highest standard in its class.

Tommy Gate’s Pickup Lift Series
liftgates are compatible with many
frame-mounted receiver-style trailer
hitches.
The folding F11 extension adds 11 inches
of loading depth (plus a 4-inch taper) to
the platform. The F11 folding extension is
standard with Extruded Aluminum platforms and optional with Treadplate or
Smooth Steel platforms.
A Torsion Assist Bar is built into each
platform with an F11 to assist in closure.
Warranty: Tommy Lift Original Series lifts have a one-year warranty from date of purchase. Pump and motor units have a two-year warranty.

Platforms are comprised of interlocking extrusions of 6061-T6 aircraft-quality aluminum.
Double-walled construction for strength.
Tongue and groove connections - no skip welding used.
Aluminum resists weather-related corrosion (rust-resistant) - No painting required on the platform.
Each Extruded Aluminum platform is a 2-piece folding platform with taper. A Torsion Assist Bar is
built into each Aluminum platform to aid in platform closure.
