Composites also provide superior dimensional stability because of low coefficient of thermal expansion versus stainless steel.
Stahlin non-metallic enclosures provide superior corrosion and chemical resistance compared to metallics such as aluminum and painted or galvanized steel… and are very comparable to that of stainless steel. With non-metallics, enclosure maintenance is virtually eliminated.

SolarGuard ® is a patented non-halogenated fiberglass system that beats the effects of outdoor exposure plus provides outstanding chemical and flame resistance. SolarGuard ® outperforms other available SMC formulations by as much as 60%

in its ability to retain gloss and color after exposure to concentrated UV light. SolarGuard ® is also able to reduce the effects of
UV degradation such as surface roughening and fiber blooming.
SolarGuard ® meets a NFPA No. 101 Class A flame spread index. Fire retardancy, achieved through use of alumina trihydrate fillers, meets UL94-5V standards --- an important aspect of enclosure protection, especially in remote installations.
SolarGuard ® features new, proprietary double-protection formulation technology that significantly enhances the molecular bond strength and crosslinking that occurs during the curing process in thermosetting polyester sheet molding compounds
SolarGuard ® fights polymer degradation by making it much more difficult for UV light to attack molecular bonds of both primary chains and crosslinks. A special UV Absorber is added to the
SolarGuard ® formulation which acts to absorb UV energy, then to release it without damaging the polymer chain.
As the new standard SMC formulation for all fiberglass electrical products, Solar Protection provides an unsurpassed level of UV resistance, fire retardancy, chemical resistance and safe, durable performance… all without adding cost to enclosures!

Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures are lightweight and easy to handle compared to metal enclosures and are extremely easy to drill, punch and cut compared to all metals. Retrofitting is eliminated because of the ability to modify composites with knockout panels and windows.

ModRight ™ also showcases Stahlin’s computer-controlled manufacturing systems, panel management expertise, custom molding options, and specialty areas such as EMI & RFI shielding.
Through the ModRight ™ program, Stahlin offers more than 20 standard colors and the opportunity to computer match any custom supplied color sample. Graphic interfaces including silk-screening and decals are also available.
