Optical manufacturing
BAE Systems optical thin films facility
provides unique capabilities and expertise
for the development, design and application
of optical coatings within Australia.
BAE Systems single point diamond
turning (DT) facility features a Precitech
Nanoform 250 Ultra diamond turning
machine, located in its own temperature
controlled environment with dedicated
metrology capability.
BAE Systems optical manufacturing
production unit has evolved into one of the
most comprehensive facilities in Australia.
We specialise in wavelengths ranging
from UV and visible to far infrared (IR)
on substrates including glass, infrared
material, silicon, crystal and fibre optics
to achieve desired performance and
unit cost outcomes.
Emphasis is placed on the design
process, supported by coating software
and spectroscopic analysis.

Optical assembly and testing
Optical testing
Our optical testing facility uses a number
of precision test methods to ensure high
quality of the final product.
BAE Systems optical assembly and
testing group offers dedicated systems
analysis, engineering design, prototype,
fabrication and production build to
stringent customer requirements.
Repair and refurbishment is provided
for a comprehensive range of electrooptical systems.
Optical assembly
Our optical assembly team delivers a
