NFAS 03/2012
12 November 2012
To: ALL ACCREDITED AND SUSPENDED FEEDLOTS
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this NFAS Advice is to inform Accredited Feedlots and Feedlots in Voluntary Suspension that the Feedlot Industry Accreditation Committee (FLIAC) has agreed to the upgrade of the electronic
NFAS delivery documentation system (eNFAS) to a web-based (online) system.
BACKGROUND:
Introduced in June 2010, the eNFAS system allowed standard information regarding Accredited Feedlots to be completed automatically and enabled users to create defined list for Consignees, Vendors and QA
Officers.
The original offline eNFAS system required users to install software on individual computers and was associated with the requirement to download purchased tokens onto individual computers to enable the generation and printing of electronic NFAS Delivery Dockets and Forms Bs. This system also required a unique login ID and password.
The changes to eNFAS to an online system are consistent with changes to the electronic NVD system
(eDEC), which utilises the eFORMs program. The eFORMs program is accessed via the Livestock
Production Assurance (LPA) web portal ( http://lpa.ausmeat.com.au/ ) and provides users with access to a range of electronic forms including NVDs, Commodity Vendor Declarations (CVDs) and Meat Standards
Australia (MSA) Declarations.
KEY BENEFITS OF THE NEW eNFAS SYSTEM:
The key benefits of the online eNFAS system over the previous offline version include:
•
Ease of access and use;
•
Accredited Feedlots can now access eNFAS through a common portal utilising existing LPA account information (i.e. User ID and Passwords);
•
The purchasing of electronic tokens is incorporated into the LPA web portal;
•
Enables users to easily manage and access industry forms from within the one portal. Electronic tokens do not have to be downloaded onto individual computers, therefore allowing users to access their accounts from any computer with internet access;
•
User account details are maintained online, and therefore technical issues with individual computers do not impact the access to, and usability of, the eNFAS system.

USE OF THE eNFAS SYSTEM:
As with the previous version, the use of the online eNFAS system is voluntary. The eNFAS system is aimed at providing Accredited Feedlots with an alternative system for completion of NFAS documentation
(NFAS Delivery Dockets and Form Bs). Use of the electronic forms is in accordance with current NFAS requirements and must only be completed by authorised QA Officers.
COSTS:
Tokens for the eNFAS system cost $0.45 (plus GST) per token and are available in bundles as per the table below:

ACCESSING THE eNFAS SYSTEM:
Access to eNFAS is available by default to Accredited Feedlots from within the LPA web portal
( http://lpa.ausmeat.com.au/ ). To login to the website, users need to provide the PIC, LPA User ID and password.
Instructions for the use of eNFAS system are outlined in the eNFAS Quick User Guide as attached.
It should be noted that the previous offline eNFAS system is no longer available. Current users of the
offline eNFAS may continue to utilise previously purchased tokens before transitioning to the online
eNFAS system.
Note: Accredited Feedlots that are unaware of their LPA User ID and Password should forward an email to lpa@mla.com.au
or alternatively contact the LPA hotline on 1800 683 111.
