Jaguar Gateway Program (JGP)
This program is a partnership between Eastfield College and UNT Dallas. You will be assisted by representatives from both institutions who are
working collaboratively for your success. This letter contains important information and requirements you must complete prior to enrolling in the
program. Please carefully read this letter in its entirety.
All classes for JGP will be held at UNT Dallas. The program begins July 6, 2016 and concludes August 16, 2016, Monday through Thursday, 10:00
a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break each day. At no additional charge, lunch will be provided each Thursday during the program.
This program is specifically designed to help you receive a jump start on your education. The two areas of focus for this program are English (English
1301) and College Algebra (MATH 1314). Since UNT Dallas and Eastfield College have a vested interest in your success, resources will be available
at both UNT Dallas and Eastfield College. Please take advantage of available services for tutorial and other assistance during the program.
UNT Dallas is committed to provide academic support to foster your success and to ensure a smooth and successful transition into college life. Upon
successful, completion of the course, you will be conditionally admitted to UNT Dallas for the Fall 2016 semester and gain access to the Jaguar
Pathway Leadership Community (JPLC) which includes enrollment in UGST 1100 (Application of Learning Foundation) designed to support and
encourage your success your first year at UNT Dallas. Once you have completed JGP and excel in the JPLC you will be in “good standing” with UNT
Dallas and well on your way to a successful college experience.
Cost
The total cost of JGP is $450, which includes tuition, books, supplies, and the program fee. If you pay $50 to reserve your seat before June 8, 2016,
then we will give you a $50 discount and your total cost will be $400. The total cost of the program must be paid prior to July 28, 2016 to receive
a transcript of your grades used to determine completion of the program. All payments can be paid by check, money order, or cash to the Office of
Student Financial Services at UNT Dallas. The breakdown of the payment plan is below:

Testing
To ensure the program is adaptive to your educational needs, you are required to take the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer is a test that quickly,
accurately, and efficiently assesses reading, writing, math, and computer skills. The test is computer-based and you must test prior to attending your
JGP orientation. For your convenience the below testing dates and sites have been prearranged.

June 15, 2016 at UNT Dallas at 12:00 PM
June 17, 2016 at UNT Dallas at 8:00 AM

Orientation
JGP orientation will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Attendance at orientation is mandatory and essential to your success!
At orientation, you will meet other JGP participants, discuss program expectations, and register for your JGP college courses.
Next Steps
Submit the following items to Daron Lee by June 24, 2016 at 5:00 PM.
• Final high school transcript
• Proof of the bacterial meningitis vaccination or booster within the last 5 years
Acceptable proof of the meningitis vaccination includes:
- The signature or stamp of a physician, their designee, or public health person on a form which shows the date the vaccination or
booster was administered.
- An official immunization record generated from a state or local health authority.
- An official record received from school officials (some vaccination are included on your official high school transcript)
