Aklus Shield® | C-Model
SRC’s Aklus Shield system helps protect people from terrorist attacks by monitoring
the air for CBRN threats.
®
The Aklus Shield C-Model
is easily configurable to
perform vapor and aerosol
CBRN threat detection.
SRC’s Aklus Shield C-Model CBRN threat detection system is an automated, lightweight,
battery-operated, networked monitoring and warning system designed to rapidly detect and
sample airborne biological warfare agents in open and closed-air environments. It is ideal for
industrial and general security operations in airports, shopping malls and other highly populated
areas.
The highly-affordable Aklus Shield C-Model system uses a modular, open systems design with
industry-standard technologies and interfaces. This makes it easy for the base hardware to be
reconfigured with interoperable systems, or upgraded in the future with yet-to-be developed
technologies to counter emerging CBRN threats. And unlike other threat detection systems, it
can be deployed by just about anyone in a matter of minutes, with virtually no training required.
Multiple systems can be deployed in an automatic mesh network by simply emplacing and
powering on the systems. It’s just that simple.

Configurable
Using industry-standard interfaces and
technologies, along with our centralized
sensor integration unit, SRC’s Aklus Shield
C-Model can be easily configured to perform
multiple types of sensing modes just by
adding or swapping commercial off-the-shelf
components.
Expandable
The Aklus Shield C-Model can integrate with
chemical and radiological sensors to provide
a complete, multi-role, CBRN threat
surveillance system.
Portable
The rugged, lightweight and compact design of
SRC’s Aklus Shield C-Model system allows it
to be placed anywhere the threat is most likely
to be. It is battery powered, highly mobile, and
able to operate continuously for multiple days on
lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.
Networkable
A self-configuring mesh network allows Aklus
Shield systems to blanket across any size area
for wide-area surveillance. Base station sensor
fusion software controls multiple sensors from
one or more locations.
Benefits
• Airborne biological threat detection and
sampling; configurable for complete,
multi-role CBRN detection and sampling
